Description: The Trinity is the stand-alone restaurant for the Crown and Castle. It has a lively atmosphere and the tables are close together (be aware), with one special doggie table (30) in the bar area that definitely needs to be booked, although - please note - we only take reservations generally for Sunday lunch and dinner. Our Monday-Saturday Smart Pub Lunch offers an affordable and approachable choice of British and Italian dishes. Children of all ages are welcome. In the evening our a la carte is a little more sophisticated, but not tricksy. As we believe the evening is for adult enjoyment, we do not allow children under 8 years old, and there is no children's menu. Having said that, we are ALWAYS happy to serve menu ingredients more simply, both to adults and children. Sample menus may be viewed on our website.

Went for Sunday Lunch, and loved it. Although the service was great and the room was particularly appealing, the best was on the plate. Flawless.

I’ve been to the Crown & Castle for 15 years, mainly for celebrations and special meals. There’s not much point lamenting the food of the chef whose car hit a tree and that was a long time ago, but this place is still the best for miles. There’s certainly nothing better in Woodbridge or Aldeburgh. Surprisingly few diners on a Friday night, this is a real restaurant, with a special feel about it, not a chain pretending to be matey nor somewhere you wouldn’t be that surprised at customers changing babies’ nappies on the table.

The staff are unfailingly freindly, helpful and a rare thing in hospitality today, they actually speak English, which it obviously comes as some surprise to many caterers is surprisingly helpful when you ask a question. Not here. You get a smile, courtesy, and what they don’t know they go and find out, as it should be.

It’s quite a restricted menu which is probably the way to do it, with choices for non-meat eaters.

It is not cheap. In any sense. But it’s the best real restaurant for miles.

Thank you very much for your review and for being such a loyal customer. We will never forget Max or his untimely death, but Rob our head chef has been with us for many years, and hopefully for a long time to come. We are glad you appreciate his – and the team's – food. We think it's the best for miles around too! Not sure we'd agree about a restricted menu, though? Typical a la carte menus can be seen on our website, under Eating, and I've just counted that there are nine starters (with two available as main courses) and eight main courses. We also offer an eight-dish veggie menu and a good vegan menu for those who never eat meat or fish.

Thank you, particularly, for the compliments about our lovely staff. They are as helpful, courteous and un-in-your-face as you'll ever meet and we are really pleased you appreciate that.

We hope to welcome you back soon.

A very attractive property in the historic village of Orford, near the Castle and Church and a short drive to Snape Maltings and other local attractions. Nice garden rooms with extra touches like fresh milk for the morning cup of tea. Comfortable bed and clean and functional bathrooms.
The restaurant is very well rated and a short but interesting menu and similar wine list make this an excellent stop over
If one question? Why finish breakfast at 09.45, no Sunday lie in!!

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased you liked your bedroom and bathroom, and the food. Just to clarify about breakfast, though – it doesn't finish at 9.45am, that's the time for last orders (and stragglers are rarely turned away). Guests are then welcome to linger over breakfast as long as they like! We hope to see you again soon.

It seems that the Crown and Castle allow Dogs into the restaurant - providing they are "well behaved"; we did not take our dog...
A pleasant meal, attentive but not overwhelming service.
Would I visit again? Yes, without a doubt.

Food was creative but not amazing. Pleasant dining room, but the outdoor dining tables were nice for the summer, and so choose that option, weather permitting.

Thank you for your review and recommending the outside terrace for lunch. To avoid any misunderstanding I should explain we try to keep the lunch menu very approachable whereas the a la carte evening menu (served only inside) is deliberately more adventurous..
