It’s got beautiful waves but not your typically white sandy beach (you have to take a boat out to the nicer powder sand beaches like bamboo island). However a nice local beach that is close to shops, restaurants and hotels.

Ao Nang is a great town but they have to address the issue of safe access to the beaches... If they would like people to stay for full vacations they need to address the Longtail boat company... the best beaches require you to use their service for access ... we went to Phra Nang Cave Beach at other day and stayed for the morning..when we decided to return we went to the operators of the boats... they asked for an additional 500 bht or wait ..they let us wait 2 hours and we still had no drive.. we had to walk through the pathways in the woods to access Railay beach, Not a short walk, to get a boat to return. EXTORTION should not be tolerated..

The views are great on this beach and there are several relaxing places to get a drink. My wife loved that you could get an hour long massage right on the beach for less than $10. There is a path that takes you up and over to a secluded beach but watch out for the monkeys.

We were there in the evening. It wasn't as crowded as I'd expected. A nice long beach, good for a stroll. Not super clean but decent. We were at the end of Ao Nang Beach, near Monkey Trail when the sun set. What a glorious sight! Really, the sky was bathed in such brilliant colours! We looked back from where we came and saw many people just standing on the beach looking at the sunset as well. We're really thankful for this sunset because this was the only sunset we caught out of the three evenings we were there, the other days were too cloudy.

Best for family vacation .cool, calm place lots of good indian restaurant around who make really good indian food best place to visit phi phi islands as they are half an hour distance from here can save your kids from nausea .not too much crowd so anyone needing vacations for family its great place .way better than phuket .only bad thing we had here is our hotel.krabi resort had we chosen other other hotel it would have been a memorable stay
