Villa Fontana is located in the heart of the Ensenada tourist center. I booked a two queen size beds for one night.
Pros:
The location. Its a perfect place to walk around the center
Free parking available (one car per room)

Cons:
1) The rooms smell like humidity and have little ventilation. The rooms lack proper lighting; however the room seem clean. Also, don't expect a modern TV (still carry CRT TVs). They have functional AC but is not very effective.
2) They have two parking places, one located in the hotel and the other around the corner. The hotel parking is limited on size, and any surplus car are placed on the nearby parking. As expected, they are not responsable for any damage or theft to the car, and if you park on the surplus parking lot, they keep your keys (Beware!).
3) The worst part and the reason I give Fontana one circle was customer service. The gentleman who seemed to be the manager was rude and lack any personal skills (A gentleman from Veracruz and I will add a name later); We booked a room for three people/ 2 beds and at the time of checking they charged us again for the third person. Upon asking about this, the manager said "why don't you just pay extra" with an aggressive tone. At some point he inferred that there were many other guest trying to book their hotel. We didn't want to lose the rest of our day and ruin our evening (This is what reviews are for!) Horrible customer service!
As a side note, this hotel rebranded themselves from Day's inn to Villa Fontana due to previous legal litigations.

My background:
Local tourist of my state.

TL;DR
Bad customer service. Do not recommend. Better pay a little extra an go to the Corona Hotel or El Cid (West Western). Would not visit again.

The location is great -- right in the middle of the tourist quarter and close to restaurants and bars. Parking is available on site, but it is very tight. We asked for a room by the pool. It was a decent size, with two comfortable queen beds, with dated but clean furnishings. Aircon was a bit noisy and not very effective, but the nights were cool anyway. The pool was nice for the two hours that we had it to ourselves (before the families arrived in the afternoon), although the water was cold. Staff were friendly and helpful. They provide a light breakfast of coffee and pastries.

Room Tip: The rooms in the parking lot didn't look very nice. The best rooms are upstairs (no lift). But if you plan to use the sun loungers and pool, the rooms by the pool are very convenient.

I was there this weekend for the carnival and first of all the rooms smell bad especially the beds. Second the pool is only opened certain hours. I think for the overpriced room you are paying you should at least get to stay in the pool as long as you want. The only thing that I liked about this hotel was the location. There is alot of bars around this hotel. Finally the hotel prices are way to much to be paying for this two star hotel

We just got back from a wknd stay at Villa Fontana and had a fabulous wknd!! We bought a wknd package that included 3 meals per day at local restaurants, winery tour tickets, and our rooms. As we arrived we were well received with a small basket of fruits and water. We asked for the renovated rooms and got very nice clean rooms equivellent to a Days Inn in the US. (very nice) It's near by all. The CID restaurant for dinners was 4 star quality and delicious selections. Benito from the front desk was exceptional!! Very warm and hospitable. Promptly attended to us on all. We took another couple with us and they were complimenting us all weekend for such a great bargain find. The package was well put together!! We can't wait to try the whale watching and fishing package with Villa Fontana! We reccomend you give them a try.
