This hotel is next to the baseball and soccer field in downtown or Centro Rosarito Beach. We stayed here for 5 days in November 2013. We were so happy with the accommodations that we went back again in December, just before our final move to town. One super plus is that Costa Dorada lies within a stones throw of the La Estancia Steakhouse, so this location makes it a double-win-win for good accommodations and dining choices. Singles can get a room for $250 to $350 pesos (approximately $20 to $30 USD). Doubles go for up to $450 on weekends or $40 USD. The king-sized beds have extra-comfy mattresses, comforters, pillows and sheets. There's a 36 to 42 inch flat screen TV in every room with plenty of channels in both Spanish and English to satisfy any traveler. We watched our favorite San Diego Chargers football team play, so my husband was happy. There's secure interior parking that's protected from sun, and everything is in easy walking distance. Yes, even the famed Rosarito Beach hotel is a lovely, leisurely walk south on the beach. You can't miss it...it's the hotel adjacent to the pier. However, I highly recommend this little local hotel over the bigger hotel, especially if you want economize. You can spend over a $100 USD at the Rosarito Beach Hotel, but I bet that if you stay at Costa Dorada, you can spend the saved money ($60 USD) on a nice dinner at La Estancia across the street every night you're there! That's what we did.

Room Tip: Ask to see your room choices before you pay. The staff will be happy to show you a few choices.

First the price was great for under $80 we stayed near the water. When we arrived they gave us a room that hadn't been cleaned. So we decided to grab a bite and come back later. When we got back the room looked like it wasn't even vacumned. The shower hadn't been cleaned. We stayed 2 nights, the 2nd night was also bad. We stayed thinking and hoping it'd get better. It didn't. They didn't clean our room and it was 6:30p.m. when we got back. The lady at the front desk said that if we didnt ask for our room to be cleaned then it wont be. We explained that we paid for 2 nights why should we have to ask, it should be a given. They didn't make our bed, we ended up just asking for clean towels and that took 20 mins to get to our room. Also, my mother got bitten by bugs, big bug bites. Sheets didn't look white, more yellow the white.

Honestly, it's a hotel that also rents by the hour. You get what you pay for. Never again!! Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.
