This place is top end for Todos Santos -- along with the Alegria and Todos Santos Inn.

There are 3 casitas -- I stayed in the Casa Las Palmar. No complaints with the casa. It was large and I had maid service everyday. Quality linen was special. The detached kitchen was fine but I had to work hard at keeping the ants, mice and cockroaches from hanging around. I succeeded with the ants and mice; the cockroaches were a nuisance. The casa is surrounded by palm trees, flowers and mature landscaping that was quite nice. The casa was at the entrance of the Hacienda and next door to a Bario. (Lower income homes, abandoned cars, barking dogs, roosters crowing through the night. I adjusted to the roosters and music from neighboring clubs, but the dogs were a MAJOR nuisance. Some nights, everyone slept peacefully. Other nights, one of half dozen different dogs would bark loudly and constantly through the night.)

If you're there for a short visit, you could luck out and have no problems with the dogs. Luck of the draw.

One other casita (smaller) was next door to mine and shared in the noise problem. Another casita further down near the main house is next to 6 new units (being built while I was there) and will be luxury units.

The pool area is very nice surrounded by palm trees and vegetation. Very calm and peaceful there. The pool itself is not heated and almost too cold for me. I don't like clorine so didn't use the pool.

Great central location to town and shops within easy reach.

Barking dogs are my only complaint here. Nothing can be done about them.

I would stay here again.

Hacienda Todos los Santos, like many businesses in town, appears to be coasting by on its reputation. This small cluster of casitas set in a palm grove is lovely. It’s a shame that we not only woke up in the morning with our bodies covered in hives / bug bites, but also left as early as possible in the morning feeling completely ripped off over the owner’s shady pricing. Although the room rate was listed at $95 on the website and confirmed by phone when making the reservation, she then asked for another $60 (in addition to the $60 deposit placed directly into her account) upon arrival. She gave us a sheet very clearly stating this inexplicable remainder quoted both in dollars and pesos. As we had been very carefully planning to exhaust our pesos prior to departure the next day, we had to go to an ATM to take out more money. When we returned later that evening to pay, she sent her grandmother out to insist on the equivalent of $2 more beyond what was quoted on the sheet she had given us. It was the most ridiculous scenario. On the upside, my Guatemalan husband learned the meaning of “nickel and dime” (or “pickle and diamond” as he later tried it out). At least that was good for a giggle. We would not return to this hotel or Todos Santos again.

TSHacienda, owner at Hacienda Todos Los Santos, responded to this reviewResponded 19 December 2008

Dear Readers,
Hacienda Todos Los Santos strives to offer its guests discreet service, luxurious accommodations and comfort within a naturally beautiful setting within easy walking distance to the heart of our charming village of Todos Santos and feel that it is unfair for the review, posted by Kerry/Ricardo on April 29th, 2007 to mislead others into thinking differently.
As our guests know, once a deposit is received for any given reservation a Confirmation Notice is sent to all guests independently of how the reservation was made. The contents and purpose of the Confirmation Notice is to inform our guests of details such as check in time, link to directions, phone numbers, amounts received for deposit as well as outstanding amounts owed and forms of acceptable payment. Once a deposit is received all guests are sent either by email or fax a Confirmation Notice.
Kerry /Ricardo was not treated differently. On March 28th, 2007 nearly ten full days before their arrival on April 7th, 2007, Kerry-Ricardo was sent such a notice thanking them for their deposit, which was in the amount of $60.00 dollars and informed them that the amount due upon occupancy was $58.45 (fifty eight dollars and forty five cents). I believe this proves that no one on the staff of Hacienda Todos Los Santos wished to surprise them and much less nickel and dime them as they say in their review. They were in fact informed well in advance of their visit as to the exact amount due upon occupancy.
Upon their arrival as with all guests, they were presented with a registration form and receipt stating the amount due as per our agreement and previous amounts received in deposit. They did not complain or the situation would have been cleared up then. Had they complained I would have produced my copy of the Confirmation Notice sent to them via email previously, if they needed a break, or if a misunderstanding had taken place, I would have been happy to help them.
The truth is evidenced by the fact that Hacienda Todos Los Santos sent (Kerry/Ricardo) a Confirmation Notice securing their reservations, informing them as to the amount due upon occupancy and other information normally given to our guests well before their arrival date.
If any mistakes, misquotes or misunderstanding took place all doubts were removed by the Confirmation Notice.
I have no one on my staff that could be thought of as my grandmother nor would I chase after anyone for the sum of $2.00! It is possible that if they paid $60.00 dollars as they claim in their review that someone may have gone to give them their change which coincidentally was $1.55 cents .On May 5th, 2007 I wrote to Kerry/Ricardo and asked them to check their email on and around the 28th of March 2007 and that they would then find the Confirmation Notice sent many days before their visit proving that perhaps a misunderstanding had taken place. I never heard back from them.
I can of course produce the Confirmation Notice sent via email on the 28th of March 2007 which proves that what I am saying is true.
The nation of Mexico, famous for its unforgettable tourist destinations has recently given Todos Santos the special honor and distinction of being named a Pueblo Magico or Magical Village. Most would agree that Todos Santos has much to offer and is in truth a most enchanting place to visit.

The Casa Santa Luz within the Hacienda Todos Santos made our whole trip to the Cabo area more personal and satisfying. We stayed at some of the super resorts in Cabo that were more posh and finer in almost every way except for the wonderful cultural flavor and charm that the Casa Santa Luz has in abundance. We felt so content and happy in the simple but elegant little cottage that we really thought maybe we should just buy it and stay there! We fixed our own breakfast and bought groceries at the tiny authentic market a few blocks away just so we could spend more time in the cottage and feel the peace and pleasure there. The owners were invisible and the maid did everything we needed including buying some milk for us.
