We have been traveling to MZT off-and-on for 40 years. It's not worse, in fact with the
redevelopment of the centro historico area and Plaza Machado, it's better!

Great food (We especially liked Mary's for breakfast & lunch.), wonderful weather, and one
of the best beaches anywhere.

It's a shame the negative publicity has affected them to the degree it has. I would suspect
that the current occupancy rate is between 30-40%, and thus affording some great deals.

Room Tip: A 2 BR luxury suite can comfortably accommodate 2 couples.

The INN at Mazatlan is our "home away from home" for winter vacations. My wife and I spend 2 - 3 weeks each year in this wonderful place. Before proceeding, please know that the INN is not perfect, but it supplies the needs we have for a wonderful holiday - security, a friendly helpful staff, close proximity to good restaurants, a great restaurant-bar on sight, and a remarkable location. There are rooms to suit every taste, from 1 room/1 bath studios to luxurious 2 and 3 bedroom family units with 3 or 4 baths. We have tried most of them and find them to be remarkable. Most units have a remarkable view of the ocean and those that do not are part of a wonderful green garden setting - at rarity in many hotels. AND, if a room if not too your liking, the front desk staff will do everything in their power to correct the situation. The hotel staff are remarkable. They really "make" the hotel. There is no request that they will not do their best to complete - from hailing a cab/pulmonia to making your favourite drink or cleaning your room at a convenient time for the guest. Need extra towels - you have them! The staff also remember the names of returning "family" and they remember your personal wishes. The Papagayo Restaurant now has a new Food and Beverage Manager and Exec Chef and the improvements are already noticable. But more of this in a seperate review. The most important thing about the INN is that we always feel SAFE and "loved" - something that many have not found elsewhere. We are "at home" a phrase that the staff us often - "welcome home".

Room Tip: If you don't like your room - which would be hard to believe - as the front desk if it is possib...

We've come here the first part of February three years in a row now. My favorite thing about The Inn, is the employees. Whatever you need or whatever question you have they help you and look out for you. Yes, service can be slow at the restaurant, but hey, you are in Mexico and on vacation...relax. But the food is excellent. The place is really clean. The grounds are immaculate. The beds are kind of hard for my taste and would prefer queen size. Best of all, the place feels safe and like home. I do wish people wouldn't go out and save poolside chairs right off in the morning. Rather rude. But there are always plenty of chairs elsewhere.

Stayed here for first time ever. 5 stars for amazing staff! Always willing to accommodate any requests and keep you happy. From the parking and door attendants to the food service staff (who all seem to work from morning till night!), everyone is full of smiles and great service. The ladies that clean the rooms are very thorough and everything is kept in pristine condition (in the tower rooms). Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite on 8th floor in the tower - beautiful spacious room with two bathrooms and massive kitchen/dining/living area. Was relatively quiet even though we were there over New Years... the solid wood doors and concrete structure makes for good sound barriers. Balcony was amazing view of ocean and the best sunsets you've ever seen. Two pools - main one was very comfortable temperatures... warm but cool enough to refresh.
Only downside... hot tubs were not nearly "hot". Internet access is very limited and the satellite tv is limited and reception is not reliable.

Centrally located in the Gold Zone, almost every room has an ocean view. Very nice grounds and two pools to enjoy. Rooms are nicely appointed, clean & comfortable. The staff is always welcoming & eager to please.
This property is a hotel and timeshare condo. For those interested in owning a piece of Paradise, I highly recommend the Inn. (If you do a walk through presentation, there is no high pressure to buy like most places in town).
Want entertainment, shopping and a multitude of dining choices? Your options are to just walk out onto the level beach front and walk North or South OR hit the street out front. A quick walk to most conveniences, short ride on a bus, taxi or pulmonia. Transportation is fairly cheap to most anywhere from the Inn.
The month of November, the aquarium has a turtle release at the Inn beach front several times during the month. Anyone can participate in this activity. See pix
FYI:Wedding ceremonies are commonly done on the beach at the Inn, pool deck or pergola. Very inexpensive costs.

Room Tip: Inca Tower is on the beach. Azteca Tower is newest. Corner rooms in Inca building are more quiet if...
