When you find accommodations with all that you need, and want, with great staff, a great restaurant ...... why would a person not "keep going back"?
The sunsets, the music played by Chico, the friendliness of the Hotel Rosita just draws us back year after year.

I really enjoyed this place immensely! The room was spacious, reasonably priced, and right on the beach. I had a room with a balcony facing the ocean, and it was sheer heaven. I appreciated the free bottled water, excellent air conditioning and comfort!

We stayed in the Rosita Hotel the first time 46 years ago when Puerto Vallarta was not much more than a fishing village. We just returned home after our 2nd stay in February/March 2018.
How did we like it it - We loved it. The hotel is virtually unchanged in that time. It is still the BEST LOCATION in Puerto Vallarta. You walk out the front door of the hotel and step onto the north end of the Malecon - no taxi rides to and from your hotel. All the restaurants and shops are right there at any time - day or night. And the beach is right in front of the hotel.
We found the hotel clean, the staff very friendly and the meals we had in the restaurant were good. We had a suite this time (there are 9 suites in the hotel), with 2 full rooms and 2 bathrooms which gave us lots of room to stretch out. The king size bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning kept the rooms at a perfect temperature. It is the old case of you get what you pay for when it comes to room size though as we did note there were several small rooms in the hotel.
As a word of caution, it is not a 5 or even a 4 star hotel. It was opened in 1948 and it is virtually unchanged in many aspects, but that is the charm it offers.
Would we return for a 3rd time? In a heart beat.

Room tip: If yo want a suite away from the noise of the street - 6, 7, 8 & 9 are suites on the ocean side of the hotel

Just returned from a week at Hotel Rosita. Great location to be in the middle of it all. Right at the beginning of the Malecon. The hotel was clean and the ladies that took care of our room were very nice. The greeters/busboys were also very nice but the rest of the staff was completely indifferent. The staff in the resturaunt were down right rude. The ‘free’ breakfast was a plate with five small wedges of fruit ( of there choosing) and a basket of white bread. There was a small buffet at an extra cost but wasn’t worth it. Our room was a good size but the beds were terribly uncomfortable. The bathroom was really run down but functional. We were travelling on a tight budget and wanted to be close to town. It has a great location (if you don’t mind the 24 hour bustle) but there are way better hotels at this price close by.

Room tip: Rooms that face the oven are the suites on the sides of the building

Our experience at this hotel was both good and not so good. On the good side- Monday through Friday free or reduced price breakfast in nice lobby restaurant; great pool area; excellent location; and helpful employees. On the not so good- hotel is old so expect moldy tile even though staff do nice job of cleaning, non ocean facing rooms are noisy and possibly too light due to street lights. Our bathroom had sewer smell (not overwhelming). We would recommend paying more for ocean facing room; bring or buy cheap pool towels; bring earplugs and sleep mask if not ocean facing; bring an air freshener (like in car); and bring conditioner- their shampoo is brutal!
