So after 2 years we finally got away on a Family trip. My kids are both in late teens so sharing 1 room is not comfortable for anyone anymore. We booked the 2 bedroom suite and it was fantastic! 2 bedrooms and 3 baths with kitchen, nook, living space and huge balcony with a jacuzzi on it. Unfortunately that was the best thing about the resort. Food was hit and miss, miss more then the hit. Staff was way more catering to the Mexican residents that were staying there and the dance music went on through the night until 1 AM. There is no live evening entertainment like all other resorts we have stayed at throughout the years but there were games and activities in the lobby at night. Beach is very rocky and littered with people selling stuff.

It was my 5th time returning to Canto del Sol! The food at all the a la carts is exceptional, as well as the service Oscar, Roberto, Sergio, Julio Caesar, Chuy, Margarito and Fredrico are all top notch! They make us feel so special and their attention to detail is outstanding!! The breakfast/ lunch buffet is average but good!! Special shout out to Jorge who quenches our thirst at the pool!! Not only is he an outstanding server but such a friendly and kind man!! My only reluctancy to return is the busloads of people they hauled in on the weekend!! You couldn’t relax in the pool without getting hit by a ball or a floaty. The kids were doing cannonballs in the pool ( there’s a no diving sign) They we’re barrading the guests such as me and my husband that we’re trying to relax in the far corner of the pool! The pool guards would reprimand them but not one parent disciplined their child!! It was chaos!! I know other resorts have an adult pool and a kids pool. There is another pool on the other side with kiddie slides, why not make that the kids pool and the pool with the bar the adults pool? That would resolve this problem!! The grounds were well kept and the maid service was efficient and pleasant!! Hi

Our current visit is our 4th time at this resort and our last, this resort has expanded its room numbers significantly without an increase in facilities, it is overwhelmed, in our whole stay we never used the pool as it was full of people with inflatables and ball games, you cannot swim. There is no quiet anywhere in the resort, there are only two bars and people in swimming attire occupy the lobby bar until quite late. Children played in the corridor outside our room until after midnight. There was no entertainment at all as private parties and weddings occupied the pool area at night. The staff try hard and are the best aspect of this resort. We travelled with TUI. and I feel that they should withdraw this hotel from their portfolio, it is just not up to their standards, during the pandemic this hotel has found a style that brings in revenue, it is a good venue for day visitors and local clientele but is not an international holiday resort any more.

This resort was very outdated and furniture was old. The facility did not follow the activities calendar and only 1 restaurant out of 3 were open. Not enough activities to entertain the guests. They did not have any referrals for Covid testing.
