We have been to the Marina Vallarta area before, as well as downtown and Nuevo; we like the Marina area the best. We’ve stayed at other resorts nearby the Raintree, hen our son had his wedding here a couple years ago. This is the first time we’ve actually stayed here - love it! Now our preferred resort in this area. We will be back. High,y recommended!

Dear Banff_Mtn_Man,

Thank you for taking the time to review our resort. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed our property and prefer it over others in the area. We're honored that your son chose to have his wedding with us as well. Our staff at Club Regina Puerto Vallarta really excel at weddings and events.

We look forward to to your next visit!

Sincerely,
Travel Raintree

We've been trading on RCI for over 20 years, and have always felt that the very highest quality exchanges were offered in Mexico, and we have had some truly great trades over the years. Even so, the Club Regina Puerto Vallarta far exceeded our expectations! This resort feels like, and offers all of the amenities of a 5-star beach resort. The multiple, sparkling, spacious pools and lush manicured tropical landscaping are pure eye candy! There are plenty of shaded or sunny loungers any time of day, at the beach, or by the pool. Servers swing by your lounge chair frequently to see if you need a Margarita, cerveza, or chips & guac! Full pool-side restaurant and swim-up bar place this resort in the stratosphere compared to most RCI trades. To top it all off, you have inexpensive access to the Westin fitness center ($12 / day) which gets you into a world-class gym, sauna, steam room, cool pool, and multi-point rain shower! We took further advantage and booked a massage and salt scrub -- both amongst the best we've ever had.

Our room was a spacious 2 BR / 2 BA suite with full kitchen, 2 flat screen TVs, and free WiFi. Firm mattresses, but super comfortable. All furnishings, linens and kitchen equipment in tip-top shape! Rooms all seem to have Bahia views, and include a 2 person Jacuzzi-type tub on the balcony. I can't really say enough good things about this place except that it is one of the very best timeshares we have ever traded to. That said, even though this looks like a resort hotel -- it is still a timeshare with some loud pool-centric activities such as water aerobics in the morning and bingo in the afternoon.

Location is also great. Get the city bus right in front of the hotel and take it all the way to the Malecon in El Centro for less than 50 cents. A taxi is about $12 for the same ride. The marina is across the street from the resort, with dozens and dozens of shops, bars and restaurants, and is also the embarkation point for most of the water based recreation tours -- couldn't be more convenient! If you can't enjoy yourself here -- you probably don't know how to have a good time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the restaurant or you'll have daily kitchen aromas and some late evening music which can get old. We were given one of these rooms (#494) the first night, and switched to #1166 at the opposite end of the hotel the next day. Great room -- also closer to the Westin spa, marina and off-property restaurants. This is a big property, so you'll get plenty of walking in!

Having two nights of the seven we were there with horribly loud music that a went on until 1:00 a.m. was horrible. One night, they moved us to a "sleeping room" just so we could rest. The other night, we thought we'd tough it out, that was a mistake!!!

Room Tip: We will not return to this timeshare/resort after visiting for over 20 years

Dear Jerrya191,
Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced from an onsite event during your recent stay. Sometimes our weddings can get a little noisy and we are always happy to accommodate a room change when it is available.

Great place to get away. The property is kept clean and everyone will go out of their way to help you. Customer service is A1. Short walking distance to the marina and restaurants. A quick taxi ride to downtown Puerto Vallarta. What's not to Love.....

We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers - 19 and 17.) We had a great stay at Club Regina. Loved the location - on the beach, close to restaurants, walking distance to the marina (go to the Thurs eve vendor market), easy to catch a taxi to the shopping/tourist spots (I think 80 pesos to Walmart for groceries, 130 pesos to the Malecon). Loved the pool - good size, never too busy, always able to get lounge chairs, we were very happy with the pool bar staff (lunch there most days), it's located right next to the beach and we even saw a couple iguanas around the pool area. We did stop by the Westin pool for a bit but decided to just stay at our pool instead. Gerardo at the tour planning booth (towel station by the pool) was very helpful with planning our adventures. We went through Vallarta Adventures and did both the Outdoor Adventure with ziplining, etc (loved it!) and Las Caletas (felt like a luxury private Island - BEAUTIFUL and lots of activities.). Club Regina staff were helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Older property but very well taken care of. The bill was perfect (and we charged to our room daily - pool and store.) We did not attend any timeshare presentations and were never bothered to do so. We loved Club Regina and would absolutely stay there again.
