Inside or out, decent menu that lets you find a variety of vegi options. The usual bland Mexican food, but served with enuf condiments that you can spice it up. Decent atmosphere but nothing special.

We were looking for a quite place for breakfast. We really liked the park the day before, so we decided to go there. The waiter in front persuaded us to get the breakfast at El Claustro, but it was too hot inside to sit there. So we took a seat outside and checked the menu. The prices were higher average and they only offered Coffee de Ollo with what felt like tons of sugar. Anyway, the food was really good and their advertising about serving the best enchilladas in Guanajuato could be true. All in all a good, but not the best experience we made during our trip.

The El Claustro is on the side of the Plaza de la Reforma. There are three nicely placed covered table cloth tables stretching to the fountain. There are more tables inside, but if the weather is nice take advantage of dining under the shade of the trees and watch the architecture students walk by from the University. The lunch was good and cheap even by Guanajuato standards.

WOW! I thought the food was suberb! It is a whole in the wall, American perspective. We ordered the Echiladas Rojas and Ench. de Nata, they were both great although I will say the Nata was my favorite. The price for two of us was 350 pesos. Not cheap but average cost. Much better than places we spent 500-600 pesos.....well worth the money. It is near, across the street in Jardin Plaza?? from the Mercado. ,

El Claustro it's the typical small place that offers great food. The specialty is without a doubt las enchiladas, and among that dish, las enchiladas with nata are the best ones.
