This is our third visit to Origen. The first was excellent, the second was average, and the third was great. The chef is getting more creative with the menu. Chef Rodolfo Castellanos is the first winner of Top Chef Mexico! Our appetizers consisted of: Guacamole with chepiche and chapulines, Poblano pepper risotto, with pumpkin seeds, squash blossoms, corn and cheese. For our entrees we had: Fish of the day, braised leeks, crab meat, steamed potatos, english peas and citrus; Sous vide pork tenderloin, braised romano beans, lardons, fried plantains and oreja de leon; Dry-aged rib eye, dry beans and lentils chichilo mole, seasonal vegetables. For dessert we had: Chocolate and pasilla chili fondant truffles, lemon verbena ice cream. Each dish was excellent to superb.
