A very memorable hostel in a nice location. There is a lovely kitchen, with lots of room to cook and a marketplace situated close, so it's perfect to pick up somefresh goods from the market and cook fresh food. The lobby has an interesting open ceiling, great for just hanging around. The rooms were a bit dark, could have been a little bit cleaner I guess. Overall a nice place to spend a few nights.

Good location, staff fairly friendly, but amenities/condition are quite run down/neglected. Cracking paint, very dirty under the beds (full of dust bunnies, so when u store your backpack underneath it comes out covered in dust). Bathrooms are pretty run down, leaky at times, though not the worst for Latin American hostels. The hammocks and cats lounging around are cute. Still, it feels like it's been a while since someone gave this place a loving hand of TLC (or a fresh coat of paint/speckling).

If you looking for a laid back, clean, safe acommodation a couple minutes walk from Zocalo, don't look any further !

Lalo and Eduardo create a bit of paradise here for everybody. They were the pioneers, who started acommodate backpackers in there nice building with a beautiful green courtyard in the middle of it. They have lots of experiences, so they definitely know, what do travellers need. When you enter you feel straight the special homey wibe.
The perfect location,  the little zen garden, colourful spacey rooms, the clean bathrooms and the kitchen also helps to slow down a bit.
They even have 2 lovely cats and a cool friendly dog, which helped me to feel at home and be part of the family.
Thanks Lidia, Gustavo for the great time, useful infos.....lots of smiles ;)

I highly recommended this reasonable priced hostel, if you looking for a perfect homey basecamp either, if you want to slow down a bit or backpacking through Mexico !

Happy travells,
Attila from Hungary

It was great to be here with fountain in the middle, relax music in the mornings and nice breakfast too.
Location is very practical. Very organized and clean.
You can enjoy the hammocks in a nice environment.

Room Tip: just be clear about what you want

Looks like a hostel with yard and hammocks but feels like a prison. 3 levels of front doors, scary loud door bell, dorm room you have to slam to close and open every time with a key, extremely rude owner, 60 pesos after checkout charge even just to store bags, 50 pesos key deposit, 15 pesos tower rental, not allowed to wash cloth. Plus, don't put people for extension and pay later, even on the same day, and they states on Hostelworld "If you haven't made check in at 8:00 pm the day of your reservation, the reservation will be taken as cancelled without notice and you will be charge the first night."!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed for hammocks, already paid first night/deposit/towel, I was rushed to pay twice by the owner before 11am after requesting 1 night extension, then was told all dorm were booked while their Hostelworld was still open, then was immediately proposed with after checkout charge which I declined, then he went to do his own thing forgot about refund me deposit! Haha! Not hostel in world popular Cusco or Istanbul (4136 fabulous reviews) or homestay in remote Mestia (full everyday send dozens away) was rushing and restricting their guest like this one. The good news is you can find several other backpacker popular hostels in Oaxaca, Cielo Rojo, etc, same or cheaper price, with nice staffs without any rediculous rules like this one. So go somewhere else! :D
