This small intimately quaint hostel on a quiet residential side street in a beautiful neighborhood of Oaxaca City is straight forward with no frills.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable at a very reasonable price. It is not a party spot and tends to attract an older more mature clientele who tend to stay to themselves not much sharing and socializing.
There is a flatscreen tv with International cable, a set of computers, free internet and wifi. Free breakfast is interesting, 1 mourning it was fried eggs and bread and the next roasted potatoes and carrots with bread. There is free bottled water and assorted toiletries and snacks available for super reasonable prices.
There is a desk clerk and housekeeper on duty always and the desk clerks (only 2 not together) are very helpful and know the city very well. One housekeeper was terse if approached, not very helpful. The younger more vibrant relief housekeeper was great, helpful and informative.
The beds are comfortable, the downside is there is limited hot water so use the restrooms as early as possible, there is no hot water by the middle of the second shower. The hostel is super quiet until the early morning when the neighborhood is going to work and about their day.
Overall this was a good choice for older, more mature travelers and guests and I highly recommend it.More
