Beautifully decorated with large rooms. My room had windows looking into a court yard, was large and very comfortable. Excellent location just a block from the Zocolo. The staff were helpful and diligent. I would stay here again.

Our room was comfortable with all the basics and some nice amenities. The service was good and friendly. There are two outdoor deck areas to sit in during the evenings. The restaurant was good, not great, and overpriced compared to other places we went. We were on a 3rd floor walk up which got a little old...but, our room was very quiet. Very close to the zocollo which is nice but if you are taking a taxi anywhere prepare to spend a lot of time in traffic. I think next time I would stay a little farther out, but I did enjoy this hotel and the staff...

Room tip: we took a basic king, I think if we'd upgraded a little we would have been even happier...I would chose the 2nd floor over the 3rd.

Trip Advisor – Parador San Miguel Boutique Hotel – Oaxaca
Very classy boutique hotel, a converted old three-story upscale colonial house with a beautifully-styled courtyard. An excellent restaurant in the front of the house. After our morning and noon adventures out and around the city, we returned to take advantage of the 3rd floor sunroom and outdoor patio (with patio recliners). We stayed in three different rooms—103, which was a dark cramped standard room with little space to maneuver and no place to sit; 105, a suite with sofa, desk, and Jacuzzi, much more spacious and comfortable, but still no window with sunlight; and 209, 2nd-floor standard, cramped again but nicer arrangements, with window and sunlight and a landing with a tiled patio table. Each room was beautifully and immaculately furnished; great showers, lots of toiletries, bottled water, in-room Keurig, coffee service, tv with a hundred cable stations. Excellent location, just a block from the zocalo (old town center, where spontaneous celebrations seem to break out hourly and a noisy friendly gathering place for families, townsfolk, musicians, and vendors). Many great eateries nearby—at the zocalo and up toward Sto Domingo, including a great Mexican-owned bakery called Boulenc (breakfast and lunch). The hotel restaurant was excellent and we took most of our meals there. The service was very friendly and responsive, moving us promptly when we expressed unhappiness with cramped quarters. Wifi adequate for email and the like, but failing to stream anything. The side trip to Monte Alban (Zapotec ruins) not to be missed—but a halfday tour is perfectly adequate.
Standard rooms are quite cramped and can also be dark. Ask for a room with a window and sunshine. Not 103. If you can afford the 600 extra pesos for a suite ($30, seriously), book it. Suite 105 is quiet and spacious, but dark.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a window and sunshine. If you can afford the 600 extra pesos for a suite ($30, seriously), book it.

My third trip to Oaxaca and so pleased to have found this gem of a boutique hotel. Stayed in the Zachilla suite - the room was big, airey and perfect for relaxation after busy days around the city. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and they could not do enough to make my birthday trip something to remember. One area for improvement is the internet speed, bit too slow but managable!

We are spending 3 nights at the hotel and have been royally looked after The breakfast is very good and other meals as well.. It is in an excellent location-close to the market. We would definitely recommend it to travellers.

Room tip: The hotel has no elevator so if a person has limited mobility they should request a room on the first floor.
