Los Arcos is a gorgeous hacienda built in the the early 1500's with multiple interior courtyards, and walkways and rooftop decks situated at 12,000 feet overlooking the mountains. The views are breathtaking. The hotel is filled with tasteful and beautiful artwork and antiques and the lovely restaurant in the hacienda's courtyard makes really delicious food. The people who worked there were warm and extremely helpful. When my wife lost her wallet Marta posted it on facebook and the next day the wallet was returned. Los Arcos is perfectly located near the main square and grand cathedral and puts you in good position for walking around the dizzying maze of narrow streets in Taxco, which is great fun. With the incredibly low price for an evening's stay I can't think of a better place to stay in Taxco.

Stayed 2 short nights here with our dog. We are traveling by car through Mexico and booked through chase travel. The app only shows dog friendly or not, nothing about size. Apparently Gracie was too big (55 lbs) officially but they let us stay and even upgraded us to a bigger room. They were very accommodating with allowing us to store her food in the reception fridge and gave her a dog bed too! We loved being able to hang out in the beautiful courtyard and cafe with our pup for breakfast, happy hour etc. In addition to loving dog guests, they also rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need (including a very young puppy named Luna who was skin and bone, dumped in a garbage) and feed/water the local street dogs. They always know where to go for some nourishment and a friendly step to take a shady nap on. I would rerun in a heartbeat.

Four of us ( two couples) visited Taxco in early May and stayed here 5 nights. My husband and I have visited Taxco before though a long time back and stayed at Monte Taxco ( a very nice stay also), but this time we wanted to be close to the main square. I chose Hotel Los Arcos based on TA comments though I was concerned about the low price. Our stay was lovely and once again, TA reviews did not deceive us. The location could not be better, just around the corner from the main square ( where a festival was going on each night) but we couldn't hear any of it from our room. The hotel is incredibly charming with different nooks and stairways and a lovely courtyard where the restaurant is located. The front desk staff was so helpful, directing us to a laundry and outside restaurants. Our room was fairly simple but plenty large enough and spotlessly clean. We used a fan at night and were perfectly comfortable. One thing to note was the impressive and varied framed textiles hung as art in our room and the public areas. There is also a small but well curated assortment of textiles and handcrafts from Oaxaca and Guerrero for sale in the lobby. Both my husband and I and our traveling companions were totally charmed by Hotel Los Arcos and would definitely recommend it. I believe the restaurant is operated separately but it was seamlessly integrated and we enjoyed breakfast there each morning as well as dinner one night.

Room tip: Our room was one flight up and backed to the courtyard, giving a peek of the activity below.

This gem
Of a Hotel is conveniently located blocks from the Zocalo and silver shopping. Tasteful decor, excellent rooftop views, clean nice rooms and great service. It will not disappoint you. WiFi in room is inconsistent. Opt for ground floor as stairs are challenging.

We picked this hotel because of the good reviews and we loved it. The lobby, the outdoor space and the room are just spectacular! The room is clean and quiet. We got enough sunshine coming into the room. The deco is so authentic and makes you feel like home. Will definitely come back if we come back to Mexico!
