I stopped in Hotel Casa Grande .slap bang in the centre of Taxco .comfortable room cable TV .toilet in room .great tarraza up top. There's a restaurant attached food a bit limited .but good balconies. Friendly staff. Well worth a stay .Taxco itself excellent.really lively town wandering around safe as houses.

The room was cheap and very clean and the terrace was awesome. Ask for a room on the top floor. When the bar/restaurant was open it was enjoyable. Breakfast was great, but they weren't open every day of the stay. I didn't find the hotel noisy, but I work in a hotel in the French Quarter in New Orleans.. The shower did get VERY HOT but you had to let it run for a while. The building is 300 years old, for heaven's sake - you have to take these things into consideration if you get off the beaten path.

Room Tip: Terrace for the view and the breeze

It really is difficult to get a good night's sleep in this hotel if you can't sleep through really loud rock music, but the hotel itself has a really nice historical feel to it that is quite charming, it's located very close to the Zocalo, which makes it very convenient. Rumor has it that Zapato and crew used the hotel as headquarters during the Mexican Revolution, and that it might have been a prison at one time. Wi-Fi is decent in the common / lobby area, but there isn't anywhere to really sit.

This is worst hotel I have stayed in the world because I could not sleep at all.

If you can sleep at ROCK MUSIC CONCERT HALL, you may stay here. But if not, you will have the bad image about Taxco and also you will not be able to sleep at this hotel.

PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!

Room Tip: JUST not stay at this hotel

We selected this hotel from the Lonely Planet knowing that it might be noisy. As I was checking in I was asked if I would like to stay in an apartment at a much lower price than the hotel room. The apartment which is run by Casa Grande Hotel was excellent - very clean and quiet as it was above the Hotel itself. I highly recommend the apartments - ask at the Hotel desk.

Room Tip: Ask for the apartments
