Erika at the front desk gave super checkin service, she handled our online reservation that had not made it into their system from a third party website. She handled our luggage and car checkin before the reservation was official. I asked for a seafood restaurant recommendation while the reservation came through. She suggested we eat at their restaurant, Los Canarios. The two waiter service is hard to beat. We ordered a house salad, whole chumite fish, and cocktail shrimp inside avocado halves. I requested a non-dairy dressing, Isaiah, one of the two waiters made us a delicious honey mustard dressing. The only faux pas of our stay was made by one of the cooks, he/she pan seared/fried the fish to speed up the cook time, I wanted a purely steamed (empapelado in Spanish) fish. This is an equivalent sin to butterflying a thick filet to speed up its cook time.
Breakfast through room service was also bueno. The egg white omelette with spinach, ham, onions, and tomatoes came with beans and grilled cheese on the side. It was complimented by the hotels in-room regional coffee.
The hotel is located on El Malecon and a historic district. We took a tour bus to get a glimpse of the area.
To close, it is hard to give this hotel anything less than a five. More
