La Buena Barra is officially at the top of our must-visit places in Cancún. We saw the reviews on Yelp and figured this would be a good spot for one romantic, upscale dinner to celebrate our honeymoon. It ended up being so good we made reservations to come back a second time before we leave.
What really made the night was our wait staff, Roberto & Selene. From the start they were so sweet, and very vigilant while we ate. Roberto helped us decide what to eat, and we're so glad we took his advice.
We ordered the ceviche to start, and it's amazing. It comes with crackers but it's best on the little tostadas they bring. It's fresh & acidic & so delicious just on its own. For the entree we split the ribeye clean center-cut tenderloin, with asparagus & mashed potatoes on the side. Everything was incredible on its own, but together the 3 were perfect. I don't even like steak, but it was so perfectly cooked & marbled, and we got to watch them slice it & pour flaming mezcal over it next to our table. So cool!
Roberto talked us into the 24-layer chocolate cake, which was HUGE (big enough for at least 5 people, probably more) and a drink that had a shot of espresso with a shot of Liquor 43 on top - amazing.
In short, the food was incredible, but Roberto, Selene, & the beautiful atmosphere totally made the night. Can't wait to go back in a couple days!
