Good Japanese food can be hard to find in Mexico.
We were in Cancun and this was the #1 rated of all the restaurants in Cancun.
It would really help when a restaurant was located in a hotel if Trip Advisor would mention that !
Located in the NYX Hotel. No signage so a real challenge to find. Both the hotel and the restaurant.
If you are old or physically challenged it is a long walk from the garage with many stairs and no elevator.
This is a very small restaurant with a large teppanyaki
area and grill. Also a sushi bar area in one large room.
Everything appears to be brand new and very high end.
Hotel and restaurant employees were well trained and exceptionally nice. Most seemed to speak English.
Ivomme was our server and was fantastic. The chef and team were first class and very friendly. I think most customers are guests at the hotel.
The edamami was average and would be better with a spicy option. The sushi rolls were very good with the rice being perfectly done. Japanese beer was available and a good selection of saki. The mixed sashimi offering was the star of the meal.
I was surprised that a small hard to find Japanese restaurant with a limited menu would get the #1 rating
with so many fine restaurants in the area.
But the employees and service and overall experience was excellent and made for a great dinner.
