On the recommendation of our Royal Sands concierge Angie & TripAdvisor we celebrated my wife's 71st birthday at Funky Geisha. The entry through a bamboo tunnel and onto the waters of Laguna Nichupte was beautiful. We asked for and received a table near the water. Our waiter Angel introduced himself and proved to be very helpful in choosing the cocktails/mocktails, several sakis, robata edamame, Nigerian shrimp/prawn, robata beef, dragon roll, hamachi nigiri, and duck with plum sauce. All the dishes were wonderful and the nigiri was fresh & flavorful.
They offer a wonderful sauce that combines soy and citrus juices. Be forewarned that when they say spicy, they mean spicy. It's wonderful for folks like me who love hot stuff; more challenging for my wife.
Melodic & infectiously rhythmic electronic music played throughout the evening. The Taoki drum show was very nice and fun & my wife was over the moon when they appended her birthday celebration to the end of the second show.
If you like excellent and very interesting food & drinks, wonderful hospitality, and good music at an appropriate price, this is your place. Can't wait to take other friends & family there.
