Stayed at the riu cancun jan 30-feb 4th, overall had a good experience here.
When we arrived they couldn't find our booking in the computer so we had to wait about an hour for our room. They gave us our bracelets and we went to eat lunch while we waited. Our room was nice, had a nice view, pools were nice, food was good, drinks were great! The beach was nice, the far end of the beach by the quiet pool was the best, the other area got really busy. Only complaint here was that there were no waiters on the beach to bring drinks.
Also, the sun is blocked by about 2pm in the pool bar area, so you have to head down to the beach for more sun.
Try the steakhouse, great food! The brazillian restaurant was ok, my fiance enjoyed it more than I did. You had to book the restaurants 2 days in advance. Overall we had a great time!

this really is not a 5 star hotel. i was so disappointed with it as we were on honeymoon and really wanted something special. firstly the beds are without doubt the most uncomfortable i have ever came across. the fridge in the room makes a terrible noise and the all the staff seems stresssed ! the beach is tiny and it does get very busy. but the worst of all are the birds - they join you for dinner! there is bird poop on all the chairs its awful. will not be back.

My husband and I traveled here in early December, and we were pleasantly surprised with our visit for the inexpensive price we paid. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, and was kept in tip-top shape. Everywhere you looked, they had people working/cleaning, etc. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the food. Seriously- the food was amazingly good for an all-inclusive resort. The only 2 aspects we were not 100% thrilled with were:
1) The beds were not very comfortable.
2) There were no working hot tubs. I understand that in mid-summer hot tubs might not be a priority. However, in early december, when the pools & ocean are cold, hot tubs should be working.
Overall, we really enjoyed our visit, and are planning a trip again next year.

I just got back on the Jan 29th from the RUI CANCUN. I went there for a week with my family and friend not knowing what to expect, the resort turned out to be great. We all had a great time and really enjoyed the resort!!! The food was amazing, always something different in the buffet, al cartes were very good, the entertainment staff did an excellent job throughout the day and night, couldnt asked for any better. The pool area was really nice with an infinity pool. The location of the resort was probably the best in Cancun. You are a 5 minute walking distance from all the nightlife and entertainment. Rooms are not five star, however, everything else on the resort made up for it. Would I go back to this resort, "YES", and I definitly reccommend this resort as well!

The location is perfect, near everything and within walking distance to the clubs. The property is designed a little weird though, with super long hallways. Be careful if you book a suite, it is in a different section and is a decent walk to the other end of the property just to catch an elevator. Being all inclusive the food was good/okay, but nothing to rave about. The grounds are kept pretty nice, and very green and tropical feeling. The room decor is something else, partly modern but they throw in a 15 inch TV (not that one would watch but but anyway) and have floating lamps everywhere. The suit rooms also have only like 5 stories high I want say, so ocean view is limited. Next time I would stay in a standard room in the main tower, although all rooms face the ocean which is nice.Service was not great but not bad either, a fair middle ground. Overall, if you can get a good price, stay here, but for full price you might want to look elsewhere for all inclusive options. Be warned though...there is ABSOLUTELY no room service, you must go down for food to the buffet and the restaurants book early, so get seat early in the day for dinner time. Also this is Pepsi hotel, so if your a Coke Cola kind of person.
