At the recommendation of our concierge we went to this upscale Italian restaurant just south of the La Isla shopping center in the Cancun Hotel zone. Note that some apps while giving the correct address show a different location on the map. The restaurant is known for the freshly made pasta, in fact as you walk in you can see the pasta being made on a big table near the entrance. We were seated on the outdoor deck overlooking the lagoon. If you time it right you get a beautiful view of the sunset. Seating there is limited so make sure you request it when making reservations.
We tried some of their appetizers and salads. The first time there I had one of the steak dishes and my wife had the salmon. They were outstanding. What really makes this place special is the service. We had Juan López and Richard. I have been to many upscale restaurants including at my own country club, and have not had better service. The way Juan and Richard attended to us made the whole experience special. On our first visit we were celebrating my wife's birthday and we were surprised by a delicious dessert and a happy birthday song. I should note that every one on the staff was extremely nice and helpful from the young hostess to the manager who checked on us.
We loved it so much that we came back several times during our 2 week visit. We requested Juan López and Richard each time. By our second visit Juan already remembered our names and my wife's special dietary requirements. All the various dishes we had, from appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts (some prepared table side) were delicious. There was only one dish that did not meet my expectations and that was their tuna dish. However, Juan did try to discourage me from getting it and I did not listen. This is definitely a must visit restaurant if you enjoy authentic Italian cuisine.

Excellent service by Felipe and excellent food. The entire staff was friendly and it was fun watching the staff make the noodles.

The food was delicious, it came fast and tasted amazing. Servers were also very helpful and very nice. Will come back very soon.

This was our first visit to Cenacola in their new location. We had been regular patrons for years in previous locations dating back to the ‘80s. This by far was a most pleasant experience. From the minute we walked in, the hostess was charming and engaging. Our waiter, Juan Lopez, was attentive & knowledgeable. And the food? Superb! Presentation-taste-quality. This will most certainly go on our limited “must visit” list each year when we are in Cancun.

Arrived at 7 pm we received our meal at 9:45
They were not busy so that was not an excuse
Will not return to a restaurant that has good food and poor service
