Very Nice place and good food, a little expensive for Cozumel. Small plates, lobster was very good and great flan

Wander the grounds of this mission and soak in Mexico. We had a wonderful dinner in a very nice atmosphere. Prices were mid-range and reasonable, except for the bottled water - somehow we ended up paying over $20 USD for water, so a bit of a surprise.

A group of three brothers comes around 8 pm and plays for the tables (bring a tip) and they are quite good - two guitars and a marimbula. We ordered the "Sexy Coffee" which appears to be a newer gimmicky dessert option we've seen at a few restaurants in Cozumel that is a labor intensive presentation involving coffee, various liquors, ice cream and flames. They prepare the glasses and make a scene pouring flaming fluids with the lights off. Interesting to see once, but the staff made it a bit obvious they didn't want to be bothered with the presentation - this was the only place where they gave us the bill before we asked - somewhat rude in Mexico where the guest is expected to ask for the bill, and it was still an hour until closing. 3.5 stars.

Came for lunch and enjoyed the setting in an open air mission building. Whitewashed walls with dark wood surrounded by a lush private garden set back from the street. Had the lunch menu with a sangria and beer. Lunch specials are very reasonably priced, nice service, nice furniture. Pretty bar and sitting area when you come in if you want to wait and have a drink. Food was fine, not very memorable, but enjoyed the experience.

Grounds & garden are great but the food is amazing! I'm glad we stopped in for this treat. I would definitely recommend the tampico plate.

Don't know how to add half a star, but this is definitely a 4 1/2 rather than a 4. The food was pretty good, albeit I don't think the waiter understood me very well and overcooked my steak (had Surf n Turf) although it was still tasty and tender. The grounds are beautiful and we got to see a lot of birds flying around the garden while we ate. The service was a little slow, but not terrible. Then again, at times I forget they're running on "island time" so that's probably just my own expectations.
I would recommend this as a great place.
