We stayed at Casa Mexicana and saw this restaurant by the parking lot just around the corner (Calle 5 Sur)...we arrived at 7...still warm/hot but plenty of fans...so one was pointed at our table...Ahhhhh
So,you should arrive @8..less heat and mosquitoes....Ambience was wonderful....brightly painted courtyard in a typical home..
We were scared when we were the only people there...other groups arrived later...
The restaurant is newly opened...not perfect yet but OMG...the meal we ordered was beyond delicious...my husband said the Kasagne was the best he ever had and I agree..they cook/bake everything in a wood oven so the flavor is extraordinary...
Chef Juan Caranza prepared Empanadas for our appetizer...we agreed that the vegetable empanada was the most delicious (with no onions) but the ham and cheese and meat were delicious....I had Lasagne and my husband ordered the fettuccine with shrimp...pasta homemade...both were muy sabrosa!! (Delicious)....
Then top off the meal...yes order even if full...with the Apple Crumble...not what you're envisioning...it's OMG...
Do not be enticed by the old usual places... this place is really worth the try...ask for Juan to work your table....

We went to this place as it looked very nice from the outside and it was close to our dive shop. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the atmosphere delightful. My wife had the seared tuna salad for $10, and I had the pork steak for $12. Both were very good and filling. One slight problem was mosquitos. We hope more people try this place. We were there around 7:00 and the was only one other couple there.

We were wowed by the ambience but nothing tasted good. The food lacked flavor and the mango margarita was so thick that I could use it paint the walls. Warning: we are vegetarians and I am only talking about the vegetarian food here. Not sure about the meat options. "The grouper was good" says the guy who has had fish probably once before, so I am not sure. Very friendly people though, wish they could cook with some flavor.

This place was our second great restaurant find on Cozumel. The staff and service was so attentive, right from the owner/head chef down to the barman/servers. The decor is traditional with a modern twist, which was nice and the food was excellent. As the place is a bit off the main road, it could suffer from a lack of customers - That would be a shame as this place deserves to do well.

Amazing experience! Staff super friendly and so eager to please. Food was amazing, and the pizza chef let us come right up to the counter and let us try ingredients as he was making the pizza. The homemade habanero sauce is hot!!
