We were excited to try this tiny gem on the side streets of 5th Avenue, and it did not disappoint.
Service was lovely and attentive. Nice wine list (we once again enjoyed the Casa Madero Cabernet Grand Reserve...so delish!)
After nearly two weeks of simple Mexican, steak, and seafood, we each opted for one of the curries for a bit of a tastebud change-up. And just wow. The chicken curry (spice level 2 of 5) was creamy, sweet and a teeny bit spicy. The panang beef curry (spice level 4 of 5) was fantastic. Just the right spice and coconut-y blend with tender pieces of beef. And the Indian Masala with lamb (spice level 4 of 5) was remarkable.
Each of the curries were served with perfectly cooked jasmine rice wrapped in a banana leaf.
As noted by the other diners, the only downside is the temperature - it was a hot and steamy evening and we were melting by the end of the meal. Also, there were not able to accept American Express (which may be a temporary situation, but be aware).
This was our BEST meal in our 2 weeks in Mexico. It is a must while in Playa del Carmen. Reservations required.
