Just returned from a 2wk holiday to this hotel for my 50 th with the hubby an our friends needless to say it was lovely an I had an amazing holiday . On arrival we were greeted with a cocktail an given r room key an information needed , rooms were spacious with walk in shower a free safe an a fridge stocked with beers soda Sprite coke an water u also have a optic range of vodka rum tequila whiskey all free repleshed every 2 days rooms were spotless cleaned everyday with fresh towels plenty of hangers an hanging space we had 2 double beds in our room. As it was my birthday I was greeted with a lovely fruit basket courtesy of management an staff nice little touch . This hotel is not situated on the beach but it does run a courtesy bus to there private beach club which is all inclusive with a swimming pool an activities which I thought was good as gave u oppitunity to get away from hotel an venture out , the courtesy bus also stops at 5th avenue which is a shopping centre bus runs every half hr . Can I say the food at this hotel was amazing fresh fish chicken salmon beef lamb kebab burgers Fijitas unlimited salad English breakfast cereals eggs cooked how every u wanted them cooked unlimited salad chips variety of cakes soups ect ect ect don't understand how anybody could complain as u were given a wide range to choose from an was lovely well done to all the chefs an the staff as they work so hard in the restrant area an never stopped you could also go to the Mexican Italia or steakhouse restrants we visited steakhouse which is situated on beach club bus takes u an fetches u back steak was lovely even presented me with a birthday cake was lovely .I'd like to say massive thank u to all the Entertaiment team they work so so hard to make your holiday perfect throughout day an night love the shows that were put on by them in the evening (Grease ,Micheal Jackson, Elvis tributes ect ) my only downfall was it ended to early an I know they work so hard throughout the day an they must b so tired but I realy think management shud provide some sort of music in bar area for guest who like to have a dance an listen to music after all we are on holiday even if it just backing music it would of been nice I know they have a onsite club pasha but it's not everyone taste of music . During are time here we managed to do a few trips coco bongos is a must it was amazing can I say I'd recommend going vip which is a gold package as ur seated and all inclusive drinks waited on you , we also hire speedboats for half a day with snorkelling in Cancun that was fab shop around for ur trips there is different reps in the hotel you can book with an different prices overall we had a fantastic holiday well done to all staff at the Riu Lupita managements you shud b so proud of ur team as they all work so hard I would defiantly recommend this hotel X

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights last May for my birthday. We had so much fun I decided to round up our adult children and significant others/spouses. There were 10 of us! The friends we met there in May from England joined us again on this trip. The food was excellent. The staff were excellent. I love the smaller resort as it seems more friendly. The entertainment was fun every night and the bartenders personable and mixed a great flaming coffee drink!! We will go back and I can't wait!!

We arrived for a two weeks stay early afternoon before check-in time, but immediately got our room with all the specifications we requested: first floor, quiet room at the end of the corridor with a double bed. The room was big enough for the two of us with a tiled floor, flat screen tv, fridge with soft drinks & beer, (free) safe and alcohol dispencer. The bed(mattress) was a little outdated but still confortable. In the bathroom we found a spacious walk-in shower. We chose this hotel because it is not oversized, the highest buildings are only two floors high. The hotel itselve is not situated at the beachside but they have a private beach club with swimming pool and transportation with a bus every half hour, also accessible by foot after a walk next to the Riu Palace Hotel. At the main restaurant the buffet gives plenty of choice on every occasion; from oriental sushi till pizza, at breakfast we could point out which vegetables we wanted, or not, with our fried eggs. The Mexican and the Mediterranean resto's are smaller and quieter, reservation is necessary. We preferred the Steakhouse at the beach club; the rib-eye steak was a great and delicious piece of meat on more than one evening, also the cheesecake for dessert is tasty. At the bar we were always quickly served, with or without tips, and with a smile on top. Throughout most of the day plastic drinking cups are used, something we do not like so much, but can understand. After six-o-clock in the evening drinking glass are used. The smaller swimming pool at the hotel, reserved only for adults, and evenso the big pool next to the bar looked clean. The animation team tries to involve everyone at the games but without pressure, the most of their evening show programs are really good such as the "Extravaganza" performance. The only moment of real disappointment was a Mayan-costumed photoshoot, organised by the shop next to the reception desk, in the evening. The next day they tried to sell us twelve pictures for (only) 240 US dollar...wich we refused. The complete staff was always friendly and helpfull. All in all, if we compare the balance between wat we payed for this holiday and wat we received, to us it was a reasonable deal.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Riu Lupita. Yes the hotel is not on the beach but this is not a problem as a bus takes you to the beach (runs every 30 mins) to the exclusive beach club (also stops at 5th Avenue). The all inclusive continues at the beach club as does the pool fun and the entertainment team providing games if you wish to join (no pressure if you prefer to relax). The rooms are very well equipped with plenty of space for your clothes etc and a lovely big shower.

We travelled with friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. During a meal at the Steakhouse for my friend's birthday she was even provided with a birthday cake! The staff are wonderful and are genuinely very friendly.

The Coatis are no problem at all, in fact, if you don't feed them they do not bother you, they are quite cute really.

We enjoyed most of the entertainment, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and Grease were amongst my favorites.

Having the hotel split between two sites was great as you never have to fight for a sunbed either at the hotel of the beach and you feel like your having a day out when you go to the beach.

Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday such a wonderful relaxing and fun time.

Room tip: We stayed in room 1231 facing the Golf Course which was very quiet.
