We debated staying at NVR, El Pez, and Suenos and ultimately decided on NVR and specifically the corazone section rooms and parasio. Rooms were great with a nice bed, mini fridge in the room to stock up on beers and water during the day, 2 showers - 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, a nice balcony and a great view. quiet, uncrowded beach and good beach furniture which was a big plus.

Hint - get breakfast delivered to your room and lunch onto the great beachbeds.

The location was perfect as the beach was fairly wide here especially compared to some of the places closer to KM5. walking distance to La Zebra for Sunday night salsa, hartwood for dinner, and lunch and dinners at Villa La Estrella.

The ventilation was great and we had an extra floor fan in our room. Our room also had electrical outlets which the websites says other rooms do not.

Great and friendly service

A great place for relaxing and chilling out! Stayed for 4 nights! My friend and I enjoyed this quaint location! We were directly on the beach! It was gorgeous! Loud at times with the wind and waves but we were able to close the doors and and have quiet nights. The staff were very helpful and aware of our needs! We enjoyed eating our breakfast on our balcony every day! It is very accessible to many good restaurants! We enjoyed Jaguar, owned by Diego! Really good pizza, chilled environment, cool hip atmosphere! Kind of a hip club in the jungle! Great music and friendly staff!! Just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Casa Banana is also very good! We rented a car from the airport, negotiated them down from $400 US for the week to $150! From Cancun it's around 1 hour and 40 minutes! Lovely place Tullum, reminded me of Thai (Koh Toa) beaches in the late 90's! Still relatively simple! Development is coming but nothing like Cancun or Playa del Carmen! Check it out!

we had a wonderful time, staying at the Lirio room, facing the top of the trees. the restaurant (casa banana) were we also had breakfast was really good (of course you should bring a bug repellent spray). breakfast was simple but fine. The rooms and area are very clean. The beach beautiful !! At the reception we had a warm welcome by the stuff and also by a bord saying "welcome" and the names of the arriving guests of the day. Everything is in walking distance.
Would go there again, especially because they are an ecological hotel: they have solar panels and do not buy 1000liter-tanks of water, which we liked very much. We congratulate! the little paths between houses and receptions are keept in their original natural way, without ripping down nature. Great !!

My wife and I just got back from Hotel Nueva Vida staying in the Suspiro bungalow (http://www.tulumnv.com/en/bungalow-suspiro.html) on the hotel stretch near Tulum. We had a great time at the hotel but a word of warning for the whole area in Tulum, all hotels have generators for lights and water as they use solar panels and windmills to generate power, there is a municipal ruling as these hotels are in a nature reserve so must self sustain themselves with power and water. This of course seems like the prices of the hotel are high as you don't get the mod cons but that is the whole point of the eco business.

Most of the staff are local Mayans who have been at the hotel for many years and have grown with the property and the hotel. Everyone was keen to make sure our stay was a good as expected and we did have a great time.

The hotel location is great on the beach, very quiet and not crowded at all. It's a bit far from the town compared to some of the other hotels but costs about 90 Pesos for a taxi to town.

The bungalows are big and spacious, the bed is big and comfy as well, there is no air-con but there is hot water in the shower but not out the basin taps. This is generally normal for all hotels on the beach strip anyway. All rooms have a safe for valuable items.

Each morning the staff go onto the beach and prepare the beach beds and you get umbrellas on request. They also clean the beach of all trash and sea-weed brought up onto the beach at high tide. All the sea-weed is used as plant food in the surrounding forest. We walked down the beach most days and not all hotels cleaned the beaches of trash and sea-weed and those that did just dug holes on the beach and buried the sea-weed (duh, now in a few months it will just be brought back to the top of the beach with the tidal movement anyway).

The hotel doesn't have a dedicated restaurant and uses the nearby Casa Banana as the inclusive breakfast restaurant.

On the whole we had a great time at the hotel and it's staff are definitely dedicated to make your stay the best possible.

Recently stayed at Nueva Vida for a week and have no complaints! The setting was gorgeous. Lush jungle and just steps from the beach. Felt truly natural and private. Our bungalow, Pajaro Azul, was huge with 2 balconies. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff at Nueva Vida were friendly, extremely helpful, and available. I would absolutely return to this place and recommend it to anyone else that wanted something in this price range. Muchas Gracias a todos a Nueva Vida. Lo extrano!
