Rooms were beautiful, spacious and comfortable, with great bathrooms. Rooms and resort are very, very clean and well maintained. The resort overall is pretty sprawling as the property includes the main lobby building a distance away, plus the Sensimar resort which if you are booking online they refer to Sensimar as the Palms and the Seaside Suites as the Infinity side but if you say that at the resort they don't know what you are talking about. Maybe they are planning a re-name in the future. There is also Hidden Beach which is situated between Sensimar and Seaside and also why you can't walk the beach from Seaside over to Sensimar as Hidden Beach is clothing optional so beach is blocked off. The golf cart style shuttles to get you around are plentiful and we never waited more than 5 minutes for one which was great.

We started our two weeks at Seaside Suites in a swim up pool level room across from the swim up pool bar which was really, really noisy but also fun if that is your thing. We met some great couples at the pool bar but usually my husband and I spent most of our time on Bali beds on the beach. So given that we weren't across from the pool bar that much, in retrospect, we should have stayed in the swim up room on the main level. We had asked for an upper level for the view and were very graciously accommodated by front desk after a few days. But while the view is lovely, the cold water canal that runs across the front of the balconies on floors 2 to 6 is not so lovely. There is no sun after noon on that side of the building and why the water is so cold, and your balcony is not private as other guests can walk along the canal in front of your balcony (not too many did fortunately as the water is truly freezing). Not sure of the point of these water canals. They add nothing to enjoyment of the upper floors and we found the tile floor in the room to be very wet and slippery because of the extra water and humidity. We needed to keep the overhead fans and AC on all the time to deal with the humidity and keep the floors dry. One of the people we met at the resort fell and broke her arm due to the wet floors so caution is needed. Also there are little steps all over the resort - everywhere and where you least expect them so real trip hazards and you need to watch your step.
Most of the restaurants are on the other side of the property at the Sensimar which is a very different and lovely, lush area of separate buildings amid really beautiful landscaping. We did not see the rooms, it is older and some of the Sensimar rooms have been renovated we were told but not all. They have a better beach on that side which you are welcome to use as all amenities are shared between the resorts, but we typically stayed close to Seaside Suites and took a short walk over to Sensimar for meals. There are also three restaurants in the main lobby which is a bit of a hike (not sure why El Dorado is putting their lobbies so far away from the resorts - same thing at the new Generations adjacent to the Royale). Our favourite restaurants were the Klay Talay (asian ) in the lobby building which was delicious and always busy, and we really loved the Mexican restaurant ( La Caretta ) behind the Sensimar lobby. Italian ( Mia Casa) has two locations - one in main lobby building and one near the Mexican behind the Sensimar lobby. We found the Italian restaurant menu and food to be disappointing. The seaside market in the lobby building is a decent option for breakfast, lunch and dinner but we preferred the other a la carte restaurants for most meals.

If you enjoy a nice beach for walking or swimming this is not the place for you. Beach is very small and rocky, lots of seaweed, like everywhere in the Caribbean, but they do work on it all the time. The Bali beds however are pure heaven. But you need to get up early to secure one. So relaxing and luxurious listening to the sound of the waves and enjoying really awesome service from Guadalupe and Marcial - best beach butlers ever! Plus the servers on the beach and at the Driftwood restaurant in Seaside Suites building were top notch.

Very unpleasantly surprised to find that, unlike the El Dorado Royale, where we stayed two years prior, there was very limited premium alcohol (no single malt scotch) and house wine choices were very poor. Started out with a decent cabernet sauvignon house wine but by the second week they were only able to offer a really poor syrah so we typically asked them to check with management and they would then find a better house wine for us so don't be afraid to ask.

We loved the Sandwicherie for lunch and the Arrecifes for breakfast ( eggs benny is on the menu which you can ask for but is not on the breakfast buffet so again you need to ask - also unless you love spicy sauce under the eggs benny ask for them without ). Mimosas are always plentiful! Great fiesta night on Wednesdays on the beach at Sensimar, and the music during beach dinner is great but really fun later on at the main bar next to the beach. We danced!

Service was in a word excellent. All in all we had a wonderful relaxing two weeks but in honesty and for some of the reasons noted above, if we had the choice we would likely go back to El Dorado Royale or try another El Dorado if we were going to stick with this chain in future.

Room Tip: Try and get a room without the connecting door between as those are very noisy.

Everything about this vacation was perfect. We met great people and the hotel was amazing. We had a swim up suite and I could not ask for more. Being right on the pool was the best experience and the staff were so friendly and helpful!
The drinks and food were GREAT!

Thank you all for making our Honeymoon perfect!

Room Tip: The swim up suite is worth every single penny.

The entertainment staff (Eddy, Gabo, David, Sandy) did a great job keeping the party alive and everyone entertained. We loved painting the coconut and hope to see it when we return back. Gaudalupe, the beach boy at El Dorado Seaside beach, exceeded all expectations and always greeted you with a smile daily. Angel at the pool bar always works hard to make the best drinks and also has a smile on his face- no matter if he is busy or not.
This was our second trip to El dorado seaside suites and we have loved every minute of this beautiful resort along with their beautiful staff! Thank you for another memorable vacation!
