We were in Don Khon for a couple of days and visit Lao Long for lunch. It is one of the nicer looking meal venues. So much for looks as the service was appalling. The server took a long time to take our order then disappeared for 30 minutes. When he reappeared with no food, we asked and soon was the reply. Quite a while longer the food arrived and was passable. This was Lao food, similar to Thai and should take about 5 minutes. The restaurant was not busy. Crazy. We saw other customers receive similar service. Ugh.

Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food. Cold beer and good people watching location.

We arrived at 7pm for dinner. Were served 1/2 plate at 9pm.
- 'your food is ready in 5 minutes' said the owner at 8pm
Went to see the kitchen by myself from the street to find a lone woman doing prety much nothing aka working one wok at a time... While 20something people were waiting in the restaurant.
Every guest were served with at least 1h delay for the lucky ones, and 1,5h mean.
Food is ok at the most.
I do not recommend at all.

It looks alright from the outside. Good location and not too shabby. However this was NOT the case. The food was poor, the bread was wet and the mango shake was vile. The service was terrible. It took 25 minutes to get anyone’s attention and there was one other table in at the time. A friend of mine was in the middle of asking one of the waiters if she could get a fresh mango shake as the one she had been given had a particularly unpleasant off taste, when the waiter turned to cat that was curled up next to our table and kicked it out of the restaurant and across the street, with considerable force. Then after grinning at our shocked faces he picked up another and threw it after it, laughing to his colleagues before snatching the shake and taking it over the only other guests table where he shoved it in the face of a man and forced him to take a sip without explanation before walking off smirking.

The behaviour of that gentleman, who appears to also work in the tourist office opposite the restaurant, was disgraceful and quite frankly a little bit unnerving. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The food was fine but not amazing. There was big strips of ginger in the dish which were inedible but the flavour was okay and the dish was fine. Service was strangely poor. I was left standing at the entrance for five minutes and staff seemed ready for a nap rather than service in the middle of the day.
It was reasonably priced for the area but considering what you get, it should probably be a little cheaper.
