Description: Mama Mia Restaurant first opened it doors in San Miguel as a small restaurant with Italian, Mediterranean and Mexican food, and life music. More then 35 years later this place continues offering to its visitors, both locals and tourists, delicious food, life music and great ambiance. The restaurant is situated in the main Patio, there are also three Bar areas, Leonardos, La Barra, Mama's and a roof top terrace bar lounge La Terraza. Due to all these different areas and extended daily hours Mama Mia is the place to everyone, it offers a perfect place for a family dinner as well as for those who loves night life. You can discover young bands playing at the Mama's as well as Latin Jazz with world class quality. You can dance Salsa or song Karaoke. There is something here for everyone.... If you haven't been to Mama Mia you haven't been to San Miguel

Obviously for the tourist crowd. We arrived late in San Miguel due to an accident on the road coming into town. The only place serving food by the time we arrived was Mama Mia. We should have grabbed a candy bar instead. The pizza we ordered (sausage and peppers) did not have Italian Sausage, but sliced hot dogs. The dough was undercooked and the veggies soggy. We tried to let someone know about our dissatisfaction, but the music was so loud we couldn't catch their attention. Service was poor, space with the music was ridiculous. We felt like we wasted our time here with so many great options in the city.

It is noisy, service is very good but food is definitely over rated. I had onion soup and spaghetti, both poorly prepared. Will not go back again

If it’s not too early for you try the mango margaritas- tasty. Tortilla Soup could have been warmer but the rest of the meal was superb as was the service! Large servings - take home bags for all four of us.

This was one of the few restaurants serving after 10PM so we reluctantly went to what seemed like a large, tourist-oriented place. There was only one party in the large dining room near the kitchen (the other dining rooms were closed) but we were starving after a long trip from Mexico City by bus. We generally avoid going to restaurants within an hour of their closing due to being rushed and rushed we were but worse. The staff was setting up for the next day, noisily moving tables and stripping down the tables. One came by and took a plant off our table before the food was served. As for the food, it was OK but we could not recommend it and the prices, especially for drinks, were high. The margaritas arrived in huge glasses filled with lots of ice cubes. The size of the actual drink was nothing special. A way-overpriced version with Mezcal was tasty but not worth the extra cost and a standard margarita was watered down and to be missed. One interesting food offering was the Nepolitana pasta which was tomato sauce with butter in it. This sounds dreadful but was actually quite tasty. There are many better choices than this in SMdA and even though the place was nearly empty in the restaurant, it was noisy (staff doing table tear downs, bar, etc.). Save your money; go elsewhere.

Craving Italian food on our first night in SMA after 3 weeks in Mexico we consulted Trip Advisor and selected Firenze as our first choice. Unfortunately they were full and the wait time for a table was estimated at 1 hour. Mama Mia was our backup plan and we had no trouble getting in. They have a pleasant courtyard setting and a very accomplished guitarist playing pleasant background music. We ordered two pasta entrees and one appetizer dish to share. The appetizer and my wife's main course were delivered to the table simultaneously, whereas my pasta didn't appear for another 20 minutes...very odd! Prices were reasonable and the food was fine but nothing memorable.
