Stayed here for 1night on a day out to the West Country the hotel was pretty much tucked away and sorry to say very basic, Judith and Kevin were very welcoming but the room was only fair. No central heating but plenty of oil filled radiators. The bathroom was adequate but lacked lustre. The lighting was also very dim.
The bed was great very comfortable and the sleep quality was excellent due to the position of the hotel.
Breakfast was very good and the evening meal which was payable separately was good.
It did appear to us that the hotel was back in the 70's but it did have a certain charm and appeal about it.
We would go back as we are quite quirky people ourselves.

Very warm welcome. Judith and Kevin are very friendly and will do everythig to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Whilst some of the fabric of the hotel is a little dated do not be put off. The food is exquisite and plentiful with a good choice. Rooms are spacious, clean, warm and all you need is provided. Families are particularly well provided for as are couples. We would certainly return

Room Tip: All rooms fine

We booked for one night. We arrived ten minutes before genius time agreed. As hotel was empty we were able to look around and decided straightaway that standards fell very short of what we expected from booking.com. We are a mature couple who enjoy our comforts and are always pleasant and not overtly difficult to please. This hotel is more suited to families with young children. Much attention needs to be given to decor and presentation. Needless to say we left and phoned the owner later.

We had the family room with en suite bathroom and separate bedroom with bunk beds. The hotel itself is in a very quiet location and is conveniently located to explore East Devon. The double bed is extremely comfortable and we both slept really well. The breakfast was fantastic and quantity was as big as you wanted it to be. The room itself could do with some updating mainly in the bathroom but was overall very comfortable.

Is like a old care home that is now a hotel. The rooms and not great with some damp in the bathrooms. Musty smell and a undercooked breakfast that you are given and dont evan get a choice. Cant eat mushrooms and yet before i am asked, I am served a fry up with mushrooms. I dont to die today!!! Wont stay here again but if you looking for some where in a hurry with being told by the male owner what you can cant do. With no lighting in the carpark down a old dirt road. Plus the joys of a undercooked fry up. Then this is the place for you, Good Luck!!
