You will not be disappointed if you choose a tour with Captain Q of Limbo Cove!
We lucked out with a really nice day in October, close to Thanksgiving. Captain Q took us out on the zodiac, which if you have never been on one is a little bumpy but really fun! I really enjoyed zipping around the Atlantic and crashing into the waves!
Once he spotted the waves he cut the motor and we were surrounded by a pod of long fin pilot whales (about 12-15) - they were so close to the boat you could almost touch them! They were up for about 5 minutes and he would quietly coast to follow them - they were on all sides of the boat. Then they would disappear for about 10 minutes or so - and when he spotted where they had come up again we would zip over there and hang out with them again - this happened about 3 times.
Then Captain Q took us for a ride closer to shore and we got great views of the Cape Breton cliffs and also spotted a couple of tuna along the way.
It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Thank you Captain Q :)
