Villa del Arco is a nice resort. However were put into a very nice room with a VERY unfortunate view and this is why I bring down the rating it to average. We tried changing room but in order to do so, the rate was really extortionate and reception staff didn't seem to be as helpful as they could've.

We didn't stay much in the room because of it. We tend to use the balcony to relax and enjoy the views instead of watching TV, so we couldn't relax in the balcony before or while having breakfast or in between room visits.

"Neptune" restaurant has lovely food and great service but do make sure you ask if your drink or dish is included in your all inclusive (if you are in the all inclusive package). There is a dress code to the place and they do adhere to it so make sure you are wearing a shirt and trousers. Sandals allowed as long as they are not flip-flops.

"El patrón" restaurant is also a great restaurant with amazing traditional Mexican food and great portions.

Now, the pool and restaurant staff in general are super nice. I would like to really recommend and give a 5 star rating to Carlos Gutierrez who was extremely helpful and always went the extra mile with service but particularly with info for getting around etc and Javier Arellano who like Carlos was extremely helpful and nice while also being a lot of fun. Two very genuine people. Ask for them and you won´t regret it!

The place itself does require a car or transport if you want to go to town or the marina.
There is a small bus that will take you across the road to WalMart or to town for 12.50 pesos. All the same fare. Also the same type bus will take you back to the hotel from town but not from WalMart. If you want to return from Walmart to the hotel, you will have to go through town first.
I highly recommend doing this otherwise the taxis will charge an average of USD 20.

If you are booking the whale watching tour make sure you look for a speed boat, otherwise you'll be put in an over rated, double decker, party boat that is much pricier than it should be for what you get.
If booking with Villa del Palmar, make sure your concierge is in Mexico at the complex, so you can voice your concerns if you have any, or ask for tips while there and not in Las Vegas, as many appear to be based in who will also try to up-sell you different things that will be cheaper when you get in if bought elsewhere.

Another reason that I´m giving this 3 stars is there is no complimentary WIFI, not even at reception. Perhaps one of the only hotel chains (Villa del Palmar) in Mexico that does this.

Aside from this, the location of the hotel, beach cleanliness, views from beach, staff friendliness and food quality, and hotel room view (if you get an actual view) this is a great place to chill.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with a view (Unrestricted View)

We traveled to this resort as members with some of our family and friends. From the moment you walk into the beautiful lobby you can see the fantastic oceanfront setting of the resort. We have an extended stay and the friendly and efficient staff truly make us feel like we are in our home away from home. Each and every member of the very capable staff goes out of their way to insure that you have the best time possible. The guest services manager, Misael, goes above and beyond in managing his highly capable staff and he personally tries to meet every guest when possible and be sure that their needs are meet.
It is always a sad day when it is time to go back home but we know we will be returning soon! There are many things to do in Cabo or it is a great place to just relax and soak up the incredible weather. The restaurant selection is also fantastic and it is a difficult choice where to go each night! The Elite concierge desk staff, the front desk staff, the housekeeping staff all do a phenomenal job. Our maid did the most beautiful towel swans I have ever seen for us. Also, a special mention for the pool concierge staff members Heriberto and Jorge. Each day they visit with everyone and have lots of local knowledge on where to eat and go for activities. It is a welcome site to see their smiling faces each day and we especially enjoy the delicious treats they bring to us around the pool. In addition,
the spa staff is second to none. Christian and all of the wonderful girls, there are too many to list by name, also make any visit to the spa a delightful experience. We have many great memories here and are all ready booked to return again.
Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay the best it can be! We appreciate each and everyone of you.

Excellent property and staff. Friendliness and quality are present everywhere. All of the rooms have a pool side or ocean view. Many have both. The activities on the beach are really good and the beach is great for walking. One could walk the beach all the way to the Marina in about twenty-five minutes.

Room Tip: Room cleaning service was excellent. Alicia was the best.

The facilities are incredible - we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and were blown away by the amount of space and how nicely it was appointed. The beds are beyond comfy. And everything was so clean! The views from the pool are memory-making (great view of the del Arco rocks!), and the hotel has easy access to the beach (which some hotels a bit further north do not). When you get down to the sand, hotel attendants give you incredible service - bringing all the food and drink one could ask for.

Villa del Arco is on a quieter section of the beach, which is great. The louder spring break crowd is about a 10-15 minute walk along the sand south (or a super quick taxi down the road). There, you can find famous restaurants like The Office (great food on the sand!) and Edith's.

The employees of the resort are fantastic. They remembered us throughout the weekend and had us laughing constantly. Often times, resorts aren't known for their food. The El Patron restaurant has a seriously organic and well put together menu. The presentation is beautiful. And ask for Miguel as your waiter -- he keeps you laughing! I cannot wait to go back. Cannot wait!

Room Tip: If you're a couple, no need to ask for anything larger than the 1-bedroom suite (2 full bathrooms, a hot tub, and a balcony)!

Again we have spent a wonderful 2 weeks here. Our room is an ocean view 1 bedroom suite. Very clean with all the amenities. Special thanks to Mariano and Erika who helped us with check in. The elite concierge was excellent. The pool concierge Jorge and Heroberto were most attentive. We really enjoyed the buffet and stage show. Many thanks to Laura, Tiger Toni I, Brenda and David for a great time. Also special thanks to our hostess Keren Lopez for her fine work. We love the gym and the Desert Spanish. Special thanks to Olga the manager and Alma our attendant. Finally a special thanks to Misael Chan the manager of client services . The best vacation as always. A home away from home.

Room Tip: Most views of the Sea of Cortez are excellent.
