I spent a single night here, tacking on a day of vacation to the end of a work trip. I had a second floor room with a view of the plaza and cathedral, which alone was worth it. The location is great, within easy walking distance of most of the major sites and with lots of great restaurants nearby.
The room was fine but nothing special, but overall I loved the beautiful colonial building. It's not entirely obvious where the entrance was at first, as it's down a side side street. I didn't go to the restaurant, as the hotel seemed overrun by people (I think it might have been graduation weekend?) but I did go to the rooftop bar, which was great, at least for beer and views. Embarrassingly, I left my iPad in my room when I checked out, but the staff was patient with my broken Spanish and arranged to send it to me.
Only one possible negative, really, and not really a fair one: there seemed to be zero English spoken. To be fair, it is in Mexico, so it's not really an expectation, but usually hotel staff seem to speak at least a little, so it's easy to get spoiled. But people were friendly and accommodating.More
