This area is part of the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve. It is tricky to get to with the roads so I would encourage having a guided tour to see more than this site as well. The Rio On Pools are great for swimming so take your bathing suit. It might be tricky for children or seniors due to the slippery rocks in some areas but beautiful to look at if not willing to jump right in to swim!

Like so much of Belize, these pools are beautiful and completely accessible. It was a refreshing stop with kids after a hot day of hiking. Not crowded so exploring was fun.

We stopped here, like everyone else, on the way back from Caracol. It's a great stop after a hot day at the ruins and hours on rough bumpy roads. It's free, refreshing, and beautiful. We climbed a little higher upstream and felt like we had some private pools to ourselves.

There are two doorless changing stalls and that's it. Bring your garbage out with you. The rocks are slippery in the water so be careful. We stayed about 30-40 minutes.

We visited the upper pools, which were fairly easy to access from the road. We all had fun sliding from one pool to the other on natural waterslides. Great for families with older kids, not so much for little ones. So many attractions were out of our price range with a family of 5.

We got there after Caracol on a sunny day and it was gorgeous. We didn’t feel like swimming but did wade and it was very nice – great place for a picnic.
