Camporempoli is so incredibly lovely and charming that even after three weeks there I would wake up in the morning and look out the windows and still be in disbelief that such a beautiful setting could be real. Or, that this rambling and gorgeous house was even available to rent to begin with.
The housekeeper, Mariana, obviously loves and takes care of this home and its gardens as if they were her own. She was a large part of our enjoyment at Camporempoli, always so cheerful and friendly. She is a treasure who went far beyond her duties to always make us feel comfortable, welcome and like family.
I have heard only one negative review of this property and that was from a group that did not seem to appreciate the rustic nature of this charming villa. To be certain, this is not a fake "lux" property, but it is a unique old family estate where the renter feels as if they were in their own home. The drive up the mountain could alarm any unprepared visitor, the hot water does need to be rationed for awhile after two bath tub fills, and the tile floors can get cold at night. But, these are petty annoyances in such a picture-perfect setting with drop-dead views from almost every window - just throw another log on the fire and be thankful for the authentic Italian experience.
The pictures I've posted only do partial justice to this property. We started to cry on the morning that we had to check out - it was that special to us.
