Lovely spot, but sadly the current owners don't seem prepared to maintain it. Take great care to park between the lines and don't overstay your ticket by a minute, or the parking attendant will have you.

Visited this magical place many times since the nineteen sixties sadly this year it seems to be falling into disrepair and something needs to be done about that, but it is still lovely. The little shop is gone but the cafe is still there where you an get a full lunch or a slice of the most delicious home made cake.

Lamornas reputation goes before it so we were expecting a beautiful bay and were disappointed. The harbour wall as been damaged by a storm and spoils the view. Even with the tide right out there wasn't much sand. However the rocks were wonderful for climbing over. The cafe wasn't up to much. The cream tea was poor.

Lamorna Cove is a small cove off the beaten track, we discovered it following the coast road from Mousehole. The road leading to the cove is very narrow and winding through a dense wooded area but then dramatically opens on to a vista of the sea and rugged Cornish coastline. There is small pay and display harbour where you can park up the car and then explore on foot. The small inlet harbour has suffered storm damage and demonstrates the power of nature. Walks in and out of the cove along the coastline can be explored for as far as you want before returning to the café for refreshments.

Whilst we sipped coffee and eat a sandwich we were treated to a grey seal popping its head above the waves to have a look around. we spent 2 very enjoyable hours exploring and watching the world go by, this is somewhere to check out from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.
