Had a wonderful week stayed late January 2015. Great weather, beach & pool areas. Beds were not too hard & the room was clean. The only possible improvement that I could suggest is a bit more variety in the buffets. We never went hungry but a bit more selection would be nice. If you're looking for a late night party hotel, this is not the hotel for you! I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Be aware that the all inclusive potion is OPTIONAL, if you want it, make sure you get it, DONT ASSUME.

My husband and I live in mexico(expats) and decided to explore a new part of the country.
We stayed at the hotel for 4 days in May. We were told by our very attentive bellhop that the hotel was at 20% occupancy 200 guests and that the week before it was at 100% occupancy 1000 guests. He advised us that the beach was closed because of very strong currents.
The front desk clerk was very helpful and suggested we not get the all-inclusive because the hotel was at low occupancy and some of the restaurants were closed. We took his advice and were glad that we did.
The hotel was built in 1980, but has been maintained. All of the rooms have an ocean view and that alone is worth the price.
We were not able to use the beach. but that was not a problem. The pools were beautiful and surrounded by lush foliage. The pool staff was personable and attentive.
The food in the hotel restaurants was good, not great. We were able to find some great restaurants outside of the hotel, thanks to the hotel staff.
All things considered, we would return to Las Brisas again.

We just returned from a week at Las Brisas. We had an incredible time, loved the staff, the beach and the pools. The restaurants were great, we had friends on our deck for room service breakfast one morning and it was great. The rooms were very clean and well appointed.
We enjoyed touring both Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. We visited the Azteca ruins, a cocunut plantation, Long Beach, a beautiful Catholic Church and a small fishing village. A local cab driver who spoke English gave us a day long tour for $30 each. The four of us took him to lunch paid $40 each and hired him for the remainder of the week for all of our transportation needs. We enjoyed dinner on the beach at Taa Taa's at Zihuatenjo and at Il Marre a restaurant over looking the city and sunset. We particularly enjoyed the Mexican restaurant at our hotel but ran out of time to visit Portofino the Italian restaurant. We will do that on our next trip! We saw a wedding on Saturday evening, it was one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen for a destination wedding. We will definitely return to Las Brisas.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have a view and a deck with a hammock and the sounds of the sea.

We stayed at Las Brisas for a week for a wedding. We were almost 20 family members all hosted there. All was good, the view from the room and restaurants was incredible, the beach (private) and the pools were great; the only downside was that in order to get from one place to another, you had to walk almost 15-20 minutes because everything was too far away from other places. We only ate breakfast there, every other meal we went outside (we rented a few cars). I would recommend a 'all inclusive' package, because otherwise, you won't get all the benefits of a hotel such as this (for example, the Wi-Fi is not included with the room unless you have the 'all inclusive' deal).

Room Tip: Try to pick a room in one of the floor below Reception (floor 18, if I remember well), because that way you will be between the main restaurant (were breakfast is served), and the pool and beach.

We had a really nice week long stay at La Brisas. It was, overall, a very nice experience.

The good:
The staff is excellent. Very caring, very friendly and eager to assist,
The view from each room, from your own spacious terrace.
The grounds are immaculately maintained.
The beach is truly gorgeous. One of the best, ever. Very secluded. white sand, Staff bringing whatever snack or beverage suits you. No vendors.
The breakfast buffett. Really well done.
The happy hour. 6-7 in the lobby bar. Stunning view, really well done drinks at half price. What could be better?

The average:
Food. With the exception of the breakfast bar, The food was just plain average. We ate at every restaurant. Mexicana, Portofino .... Not bad, but for the price point, just average. Seriously, these guys need to understand the concept of "sear" when cooking meat at Porto-fino. We made the mistake of ordering the filet. The meat appears to have been boiled, or at best, braised. Such a shame. Stick with the fish.

The bad:
The place is a stair-master. Fortunately, my wife and I are in decent shape. But, if you are not highly mobile, don't bother. The hotel is a 22 floor monster built into a hill and every place you want to go, I mean every place, takes a minimum of three flights. The beach? 20 flights. Pool: 15 flights. Restaurants? Three flights. They have elevators. But only one bank, and at only one end of the very large facility. We of course were staying at the end farthest away. It is fairly bizarre that a place this opulent would have such a dearth of elevators.

The hotel is quite isolated. I recommend the all inclusive option. We don't typically do this, preferring to go to local places and avoid the high priced, mediocre food at resorts. But it is truly hard here. Not much in Ixtapa, two miles away. Ziwa has many options, but it is a pricey and lengthy 15-30 minute cab ride away. We went a few times, deciding the effort was not worth it.

The two nicer restaurants absolutely require men to wear long pants and closed shoes. I get the pants. But, really, closed toed shoes at a beach resort? I saw lots of jeans and tennis shoes, but I was not allowed in while wearing linen pants, a silk shirt and leather sandals. Somebody needs to rethink this policy.

Room Tip: Get as high as possible. But all rooms have a nice view. Ideally, you want to be on 17 or 19 as the lobby is on floor 18. makes it easier to get to the restaurants since the elevators are on only one end of the facility
