The hotel is really a park. There is even a movie theater, playground and all the stuff! The architecture is nice as well. The staff is very friendly and caring. The prices at the restaurant are really fair and the food is good. HOWEVER... the air conditioner was as loud as a tractor. In high summer we decided to turn it off and sleep under the warmth. Also, I'd say the shower needs a renovation because it is really old. Our stay was anyway nice and we would both recommend it and return. I'm sure the hotel is already taking good care of these problems.

Room Tip: loud air conditioner

After a long trip in roads sorely in need of repair, the arrival in a clean and well taken care building that looks carefully designed to be part of the unique view of the ruins is a bless. Unfortunately, the service and operational details do not match the expectations. The rooms are comfortable and clean, amenities average. The staff though nice do not know anything about the area of its history, and are unable to suggest anything else but the cards and phone numbers of someone else. The breakfast is reasonable, but the buffet mediocre. The fact that ruins are only a 15 min walk away makes the place unbeatable -- but I am happy we only paid the very special discount price (which I feel is the right price for what we got - the regular price seems way overpriced for what is offered).

Room Tip: Ask for a room away form the ramp

We rode our bikes from Santo Angelo to Sao Miguel das Missoes. It is about 31 miles(50 km) on mostly dirt roads. Imagine what you want when you get to the hotel! A quick check in, a spacious room, a great shower and good restaurant at the premises so you don't need to go out for dinner. That is all we got, including wine at modest prices and a good food. As a family of four we had one large room with a king size bed and two queen size beds. The courtyard also provided us with an outstanding sunset!!! Want more?? Go check it by yourself.

Tenondé Park Hotel is impressive. It is a huge property that impresses guests upon arrival. Rooms are simple but clean. Most important of all: it is a quiet cozy property. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the Missões area.

They have a restaurant by the lobby where we had "a la minuta" for dinner. It is a staple dish in the south of Brazil: rice, beans, beef, an egg and salad. The price was fair. We also drank a bottle of (good) wine made in the region. Their wine selection is not worth of notice but then this is not their objective.

The only disappointment we had was their breakfast. It is really poor. The bread was stale, the cakes tasteless, the selection of fruits really limited. Dairy products were also scarce and tasteless. Their choice of juices was good though. If you are traveling with children or if you like those brunch-like breakfast tables, pack your room with everything you need in advance.

São Miguel is a small town, very cozy and used to receiving tourists. However, there are noticeable limitations to the availability of products in the few small markets we spotted around the city. So, if you are driving around the region, stock some basic items in your car before heading to São Miguel.

We went to two restaurants in the city. They offer very cheap all-you-can-eat buffets (very limited buffets, I should add). At night, restaurants in the city offer pizza or "a la minuta".

The decoration of the hotel with Guarani-inspired handcraft really helps set the scene before exploring the ruins of the only building left in their huge "Jesuit Mission" dated back to the XVII/ XVIII centuries. You will see that the ruins of the church are within walking distance from Tenondé (about 20min). And the rest of the city is also easy to explore on foot.

My favorite part of the hotel? The lawn at night. Just sit on the grass and look at the sky for a breathtaking view.

Room Tip: Either ask for a room facing the pool (noisier during summer time) or facing the opposite direction.
