We loved this beach, while my husband and son snorkelled I just floated in 2 feet of water for an hour. It is crystal clear and sandy and you. an walk way out in shallow water. Very nice beach with drinks served nearby.

Pros...it was free and easy to get to. There were a lot of fish, including two small barracuda, also anemones. The water was a nice temperature.
Cons....murky water, a lot of people, jet skis in the water( drove carefully, but fuel goes in the water, affecting wildlife and snorkels), sea lice(larvae of jellyfish) bit 2 of the 4 of us,
We were there on a December afternoon, only in the lagoon area. It is full of Catalonia vacationers, who kicked up a lot of bottom gunk. There were chunks floating. It had rained hard a few days previous and there had been waves for a week, which many have contributed to the murkiness and the floating bits. There were fish close to the rocks/coral. You must wear water shoes or fins.

Great place next to Catalonia Riveria Maya resort to snorkel and see fish. Big and small. Since it is in a cove or lagoon, no waves to worry about.

Our resort sat on this reef and I was impressed with the size and variety of fish to see. Waters are more calm in the morning.

We spent a whole day at the beach, the water temperature is very nice and not too crowded. There were MANY fish and very clean compared to the other beaches in the area, not much seaweed here. Nice for swimming because most of it it's closed off so no waves. Overall good place to spend a whole day especially with the kids
