Some of the reviews are pretty hard on this property. The hotel is basic. If you want a luxury hotel, then look elsewhere. The website is clear that there is no restaurant, pool, exercise room or other amenities on site. You can get access to Banff Park Lodge, which is just across the road, for restaurants, etc.
We stayed in 2 pet friendly rooms. If you have a dog, this location is great. It is right next to the river pathway and a lot of green areas. All the pet friendly rooms are on the first floor so getting out of the building is easy. On the other hand, the first floor rooms do not have a balcony or patio.
The pet friendly rooms are all the same. Two double beds, a small table with two chairs, a chest of drawers with a tv, a small cabinet with a mini fridge, a nightstand and two small chests/benches. Not a lot of space but for the price, it is very good value.
We had no problems with wi-fi and the rooms were clean. The hotel in general is dated but functional if you are looking for somewhere comfortable to sleep in a good location. The area is quiet but only a short walk to Banff Avenue.
The staff members were efficient and helpful when we had questions.More
