Not really your typical youth hostel, which I actually quite liked. Lots of people of all ages - young travellers, families, older couples, small groups. Plenty of free parking spaces in late July, never an issue with parking. Hostel had a restaurant on site which looked reasonable, constant huge lines but seemed to move quite fast. We were using the kitchen anyway. Stayed in a 6 bed dorm - 2 bunk beds and a loft upstairs which was a little odd. Rooms are basic and a bit old, but adequate. Quiet place for a good sleep.

I had a hard time getting an affordable accomodation on a Saturday night so we tried this hostel. We booked a family room which is basically a room with two bunk beds and your own toilet but no shower. Showers are shared. There is a restaurant in hostel which is not bad. Accomodations are basic.Wifi speed is average. The room however is quite warm , There is nothing inside, no TV , no free tea and coffee. Accomodations however during Sundays and the rest of the week you can scout for bargains in other inns around the Lake Louise area if you are staying as a family., But definitely if you are a solo traveller and u dont mind sharing a room with strangers then this is your best choice.

HI-Lake Louise is the only budget accommodation in the town of Lake Louise, so if you want to stay in the vicinity, this is your only choice. Fortunately, it's a great place to stay. It's built in a ski chalet style, with a beautiful common room and plenty of dorms. Private rooms are also available. Clean and private showers are plentiful, and our dorm room also had an ensuite sink and toilet, which was nice.

My dorm room was clean, with comfortable beds (there was a loft double bed there too) and a nice view of the mountains. There is plenty of free parking on-site. The staff were also friendly and helpful (although the scheduled movie night did not happen for whatever reason).

Lake Louise's only budget restaurant, Bill Peyto's Cafe, is also part of the restaurant, and is open to the general public as well. I would highly recommend having dinner before 6pm if you can, as the lineups were crazy long afterwards.

Lake Louise (the actual lake) is about 5 minutes away by car, or you can hike to it on a trail if you want. Moraine Lake is about 20 minutes away. Both are must sees.

Was only here for one night, but really had a nice stay!

Room Tip: The bunks are first come, first serve, so check-in as close to 3pm to increase chances of getting a bottom bunk.

I stayed in their dorm rooms for 3 weeks. Some rooms have washrooms and share the showers right across the hallway. They are kept quite clean. I enjoyed the sauna the most. After a long, hard hiking day, sitting in the hot sauna was the best treat!

Room Tip: if you are girl, maybe you'd like a female dorm ;)

Our family of four including a 9 and 11 year old stayed for 3 nights. We booked a private family room. Bathrooms and showers were closeby, but outside the room. There were cubbies outside our room to leave your shoes, as the room was quite small. The kids really enjoyed walking up the ladder to their sleeping alcove, in the upper part of our room. There were couches and many common areas. We ate breakfast in their cafe every AM. Food was excellent, but breakfasts were pricey averaging about CAD 50. I think that is the going rate for that area. If you wanted to save money, you could use the kitchen. There was a sauna we didn't use. There was a pool table in another common area, above the reception area. Overall, a good place to stay for a few nights, and far cheaper than other Lake Louise accommodations. It was worth basing here for awhile, as there are many things to do around here, including the Icefields Parkway.

Room Tip: private room good for families
