I'm going to disagree with several raters on Num-Ti-Jah. No issues with the history of the place, the mountain views or Bow Lake. But I'm rating a lodge in the Rockies, not the views. We found it very sub-par. Our room had an old tin shower that was rusted and had an old stained plastic curtain. The bedroom had carpet stains by the beds, the bed skirt all around the floor was dirty, our sheets were stained as was the throw on the bed. I have photos. Based on readers reviews and the Nu-Ti-Jah site description I picked this place as a treat for my wife for our trip through the Rockies. She is a retired nurse who doesn't mind rustic but who expects cleanliness. To top this off the room rate and the restaurant prices were extremely high. Normally I never complain, but this is not a lodge I can recommend. All this said, the staff were wonderful and I give them a big thumbs up.

We really enjoyed our stay in this historic lodge in the most amazing setting on Bow Lake - a real treasure. The lodge is charming but quaint and rustic with aging facilities, so be prepared. We could hear footsteps from the room above! Food was disappointing, especially breakfast, but we really enjoyed our stay in this corner of history.

We only booked this hotel for one night, while we travelled to Jasper, but wish we had stayed longer. It is such an amazing place, set on the side of Lake Bow. The scenery is stunning. The house is rustic and authentic. The rooms themselves are a little basic, but all adds to the character. This place is a must. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful lodge, and Bow Lake is truly a spectacular lake. However, the lodge is very old, and there is no air conditioning, and no refrigerators in the room. The lounge area is still lovely, with a pool table and books to read, but the price is way too high for what you get. It's still a beautiful place to go to enjoy a dinner in the dining room. If you do decide to stay here, you only need one night.

Room Tip: It's expensive! One night is enough!

Dear bibi569,

Thank you for taking the time to review our home away from home! We take a great deal of pride preserving our history in this rustic and scenic setting. Unfortunately, given our eco-friendly, off-the-grid model, we are not able to equip our guestrooms with appliances such as refrigerators, however, our complimentary Coffee & Tea station is available 24 hours a day and we are happy to store any items guests may have in our industrial cooler.

We do hope you choose to return to enjoy our fabulous scenery once again!

Yours Sincerely,

Fraser Cameron

10 min from Peyto Lake overview. Lovely lodge beside Bow Lake. Rustic interior and great delicious breakfast. AWAY from thongs of tourists. Hidden jem and dont miss when you look tour Bow Lake. Pleasant surprise.
