The service was friendly overall. I have been there numerous times but this last time I ordered a beef dip sandwich in the lounge. The sandwich itself was ok except they put the horseradish right inside (instead of on the side) so beware! The aus jus dipping sauce was inedible and gross. So salty I couldn't eat it.$17 for a beef dip. I had a bad experience before at Boomtown, their other restaurant here. Won't be returning.

We hooked this hotel well in advance. Husband is a Gold Status member. One day before our arrival we did our check in and in his profile he has a request for high floors, which we understand is a wish and the hotel is not required to accommodate. Did I mention we checked in one day before we arrived?

We were put in the Atrrium building, first floor on room 174. Let me tell you about this room. It's a handicap room, with no bathtub. Just a tired, old step in shower room that belonged to a hospital not so long ago, and is shared with a toilet. When you shower there isn't anywhere where you can hang/place your clothes or towel. But OK.

Next, as many reviewers will tell you, the atrium building is across the street and connects with the main building by a walkway. The amount of walking you have to do is ridiculous especially when they could advise you to turn around and park on the other side of the street and then walk to your room. No such courtesy was extended, we just received instructions to go to take the elevator to the third floor walk the walkway then take elevator to first floor and then walk to our room. That whole thing took 10 minutes with two elevator rides, walking, three suitcases and two kids. But OK.

Then we arrive to our room, that to begin with, should not be a room. Room 174 is literally two steps away from the main dining room/restaurant in the atrium building, where they conveniently (for anyone else) serve breakfast starting at 6AM, but start setting up at night and then at 5am, from a room/kitchen that it's ONE, yes ONE room away. The amount of noise, music and the constant opening and closing of a door that miserably failed to separate this hell from our room was ridiculous. We barely could sleep! Clinking and voices started at 5AM in the morning, music was on at 6AM! What kind of hotel does this to a guest that booked well in advance, checks in advance and has a Gold status? This one.

It was hell. We brought it up on our way out and the concierge on the atrium building apologized and said that, get this, they were AWARE of how noisy this room is, but they had a full hotel. OK. We checked in one day ago, they still gave us the worst room in the entire hotel. But, to compensate our lack of sleep they would give us 500 points back. We seriously laughed internally and were about to head out when she asked if there was anything else she could do to make up for this. So, we said returning our 20,000 points for the room would be the fair thing to do here, since we were not able to sleep. -Side note, we stayed in Calgary on our way to Edmonton to catch a red eye flight next day at 3pm, so this night of sleep was truly important to us and our two children.

Concierge lady, who was very nice and apologetic offered to talk to the manager who proceeded to ask her several times if she had told us, the hotel was full (does not matter), if she had apologized to us (she did) and other series of training procedures that made this nice lady understandably very uncomfortable in front of us. I felt for her. This manager didn't have the courtesy of walking to the atrium front desk and talk to us directly, and after a brief check list of all she expected the front desk lady to say, she agreed to return 10,000 points for the slight inconvenience of not being able to sleep in her hotel, due to the amount of noise her own employees made.

Be aware of how this hotel is laid out and how management, will treat you when they fail to provide you with a restful, quiet stay.

And take a look at our pictures, the host stand was 3 feet away from our door!!!

This property consists of 2 buildings that are joined by an above ground walkway (called a "plus 15" in Calgary). The atrium building is a low rise building that houses the breakfast room. It's across the street from the tower, which is the main building where the front desk, parking, fitness room & pool are located. Front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming, although there were times when there was only one person working. Our room was clean and comfortable, if a bit limited for space. There was only 1 drawer for clothing and the cupboard was very narrow. As in many Marriott properties, selection of tv channels was inferior to other hotels. Beds were comfortable and housekeeping staff were great. This is a good choice if you'll be spending time in the south of Calgary or don't mind driving or taking the C-train.

Stayed there for 2 days during the Stampede and had a blast ! We have a family of 2 sons and a little baby girl and they had plenty of stuff to do, 2 gyms that are open 24 hours a day went for family workouts every single day, the pool and hot tub were family friendly, the rooms were clean and decent size, the people at front desk were very friendly and nothing short of accommodating , we had a little incident in the elevator and the manager ended up sending up Ice cream to our room for all the kids and discounted us one night's fee for that . The location was great as well because close to chinook mall, and the stampede as well . Overall good value for the money , will definitely go there again next stay in Calgary

The customer service we received during our stay was great. When we first checked in the front desk attendant (male working at the Tower the eve off Fri July 6) was fantastic! He gave us tons of info on the stampede and checked the internet for mainstage tickets. We can’t say enough about him - first class service! When we went to check into our room we realized that there was a mistake in the room type we were given (vs what we requested). Well, we were there during istampede & the hotel was fully booked. The conceirge working (blonde) was incredibly wonderful! She did all she could and had such a positive, helpful attitude we knew we were heard. Thank you. Finally, kudos to supervisor Logan who made it right for us.
