If I was in my twenties I would certainly choose to live here. Later in life its just a great place to wander around with plenty of interesting and quirky shops and places to eat and drink - if a tourist definitely worth checking out

This is one of Calgary's gems. It is a collection of restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theatre and other specialty shops. Often the shops are one of a kind stores where you can buy unusual gifts. Then you can stop and have coffee and a meal after choosing form an eclectic variety of delicious eateries.

Although this is Calgary's oldest boutique district, there seems to be always something new popping up. I hadn't really stopped by for a while, and I counted 2 or 3 new places that I hadn't noticed before. The District extends from 2 Ave and 10 Street, and goes to 14 Street along Kensington Road, and is a real Calgary favourite. Their ace-in-the-hole is the wonderful Plaza Theatre, which screens art films and the best of the lesser known first run films. But there are literally dozens of great little boutique shops to browse through, and many coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. So really, you could (and perhaps should) stop by more frequently, and each visit would be a bit different. And it is the heart of the very livable communities of Hillhurst Sunnyside and West Hillhurst, with a Safeway store and other food outlets. All-around, it doesn't get better than this in Calgary.

Love this neighbourhood, our favourite restaurant is located here! - Nikos. Love to come here on the weekends to stroll the shops and take in the restaurants. Quaint unique shops you would not normally find in shopping malls. Coffee shops and local artist shops are great to check out as well. Picture a Sunday afternoon stroll through the neighbourhood....very relaxing
