Lovely park in the middle or a residential area. Easy walking distance from my daughter's apartment. Spent an hour walking through trails, a few hills here and there, enough to get your heart rate pumping. Lovely trees and brook to walk past as well.

I love these trails. They can be somewhat crowded in the nicer months but that is only because they are very easily accessible and can be used for any kind of activity. There is main trails that are paved which is great for parents with strollers, any body in a wheelchair or large groups (as the trails are wide). There are also may other trails with stairs and unpaved that are great for people that would like more of a challenge and to be more secluded from others. The trails go in many different directions for kilometers and is great for exercise!
My boyfriend and I come here on a regular basis in the warmer months!

A piece of country in the city. I have seen coyotes in the ravine area and deer as well as countless birds and small critters. It is a walk for poets to stroll and stretch their world weary words as they stop to sit and think on the odd benches scattered along the creek bed.

I love taking my dog for walks through the off leash area. Lots of bush to run around in and explore. Also a nice creek that traverses the trail for them to take a dip. My big complaint is that not all pet owners are responsible at this location and have had to fight off a couple of unsupervised dogs that attacked my dog. Otherwise the people are all very friendly to say HI.

Part of Edmonton's famous beautiful river park area, this weekend la Cite Francophone hosts the flying canoe festival. Come daytime to the City Francophone for the sugarbar, ice slide, music, and more. At night come into the enchanted displays throughout the ravine. Lights, lanterns, music camps, and sled rides are part of the activities. Friday or Sat. there are canoe races down the Edmonton Ski Club hill at adjoining Gallagher Park. Tie it in with hockey Canada at Sir Winston Churchill Square (a 3 min. #8 bus ride away) and the farmers' market in City Hall on Sir Winston Churchill Square, where there is also skating and free skate borrowing. Normally, in the ravine you can hike, bike, outdoor pool, and walk your dogs.
