Went to Piccolino's with my daughter and the two of us enjoyed the experience from the moment we walked in the door. Lino the owner greeted us with a warm embrace and the serving staff were not only experienced but affable and engaging. All of this setup the reason we came the food....delicious, down home Italian food. From the pasta's to the potatoes everything was down with care and great taste!!

This places looks a little suspect hidden in a strip mall in the west end but the food is amazing. When we lived in Edmonton, we often celebrated anniversaries or birthdays there. This is a must try!!

Our daughter and husband were in town visiting and we chose Piccolino for an evening meal. Later that evening and the next day our guests spent the next 36 hrs with stomach cramps and trips to the bathroom. The culprit we believe was the Penne de Mare.

As was discussed in our phone conversation yesterday, we are so very sorry to hear that your guests were ill while visiting from out of town. That definitely doesn't make for a fun visit.

But we are especially sorry that you believe the cause of your family's illness was the Penne di Mare, resulting in a very poor review.

As we discussed, many other guests ordered the Penne di Mare or other seafood dishes (containing prawns, scallops, or mussels) on the evening in question and we haven't received any other complaints of illness.

We appreciate you calling us immediately to address your concerns. As of today, we haven't gotten any other reports of sickness. So it seems to be an isloated incident, or quite likely unrelated altogether to the Penne di Mare.

We sincerely hope you will give us another chance.

We've been going to Piccolinos for years. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and you're always welcomed by the owner Lino and one of the staff. The tomatoe sauce is the best in Edmonton, food quality is consistently above par. Excellent wine menu, moderately priced. Fabulous pizza!

I took my daughter for supper on the way to see a show at Winspear. From the moment we walked in the door it was like meeting old friends. They, meaning all of the staff, greeted us in the "old country" way with such warmth and heart. Knowing we were on a time line they brought us our food promptly with exceptional service from our waiter. Seldom do you get the personal touches like you do at Piccolinos. By the way the food was exceptional, the Gorgonzola pasta sauce according to my daughter was worthy of a plate licking. My salmon was prepared in an amazing sauce with poached tomatoes and shrimp. I would love to know this recipe!!
