My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights on our "mini-moon" getaway (the honeymoon has to wait for a few months) and it was a very pleasant stay. Management was thoughtful and left us with a complimentary bottle of wine (a nice bottle of Trapiche from Argentina) upon check-in.

The mini-suite that we were in was quite large, but oddly shaped and featured a sunken den with fireplace (which we enjoyed using one evening). While a little old/dated feeling, the room was clean and comfortable.

The restaurant was closed (I think for renovations), but that wasn't a problem, becuase it's only a short walk to other nearby restaurants. There is also hot-tub and swimming pool on site.

We booked the Tonquin Inn last minute. There were 2 hotels left but the other one did not have a hot tub so we chose the Tonquin. Room was clean and looked like it had just been poorly renovated. Definitely in need of some more renos. Bathroom shower curtain rod was coming out of the wall, bathroom walls were crumbling and the tile grout was all coming out. I wouldn’t pay more than $89 for this place, that may be too much. Quiet part of town, a few blocks from any restaurants or shops but very noisy. Could hear our neighbours talking like they were in our room. One hot tub and the pool were out of order, and the restaurant was under renovations.

Upon checking out and leaving the hotel, I realized I had forgotten my iPad in my room. Long story short, no iPad was turned in because of course, why would the maid turn in a free iPad. Extremely angry that this hotel encourages theft and hires such shady people with zero remorse or care for their customers. Don’t go here unless you like to be taken advantage of with zero apologies. AWFUL.

Good Afternoon,

We are sorry you forgot your Ipad in your room but your mistake should not lead to unproven allegations such as the ones you have made above. In many instances, we will have guests reporting lost items only to hear back from them later to apologize as the item mysteriously resurfaced they had simply misplaced it upon their departure.

Our team members take great pride in maintaining company standards and one of those standards is honesty. A thorough investigation was conducted from our end and we are indeed sorry to report that we did not have anything of this nature reported.
However, to suggest that "this hotel encourages theft and hires such shady people" is offensive and unwarranted, totally uncalled for under any circumstances and if you are waiting for an apology, I will be glad to consider such a thing if and when you plan your next visit to Jasper so that we may discuss in person.

Your insinuations and accusations are unfounded and unappreciated... Regards.

This hotel is in a great location and easily located. Access is easy as was check in.
The room was adequately appointed and met our needs.
Unfortunately no food was available as the restaurant “was closed for the season”!
On the good side we walked a short 200m to the nearby Best Western and their restaurant The Inn Grill. This proved a real bonus and we had both dinner and a breakfast here. Recommended!

Dear BroomeAussies,

We have taken note of your review following your recent stay with us at the Tonquin Inn Jasper and are delighted to note your satisfaction with your accommodations.

Unfortunately, our restaurant was indeed closed as it is undergoing renovations after a very busy summer season and this time of year is the most appropriate time to proceed with such work while hopefully minimizing as much as possible any inconveniences to our guests. We do regret the closure upon your visit but happy to note you were well taken care of just a short walk away.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts and kind regards.

The rooms are rustic and comfy, with all the amenities including full size fridge, dishwasher, stove, dishes etc. Conveniently located off Connaught drive and 2 outdoor hot tubs. Close enough to downtown for convenience but far enough away to escape the hubbub. Only thing was the bed was hard on my back because it's sensitive from soft tissue damage and the blinds let a fair amount of light in even when closed so we had a hard time sleeping. However, those were pretty minor details and are fairly unique issues so I wouldn't let that stop me from recommending it to others.
