They charge $200 to your credit card as a damage deposit. A ice bucket in room; no ice machine. Room stinks of old cigarette smoke so bad I could barely sleep. The room had windows but we couldn’t open them. The bed was hard. Very dated hotel. This place is more like a $60-$70 night, not the $150-200. Should’ve stayed at The Coast!

I stayed here for several nights while in the area on business. The hotel is quite nice and the staff were super helpful, even at 03:30 when I was heading out to the airport to catch a very early morning flight.

There is a restaurant and whisky bar onsite both of which are quite nice.

The service at the restaurant was very slow, the room was dark and while the bathroom was nice and obviously had been recently renovated, the carpet and furniture was in need of replacement. The wi-if was slow and the location of the hotel wasn't great (it is quite a way from downtown and a $60 cab ride from the airport).

We did have a wine-pairing dinner for the conference we were at which was very nice.

This is a very pleasant and quaint hotel. We loved the vibe it had and the restaurant and whiskey bar are a nice touch. Unfortunately the pillows needed to be changed on our second night as they were old and lumpy. The room heater was extremely loud and woke us up when ever the thermostat triggered it. Very spacious room.

We had a birthday celebration for my father who is 100 years old in January at the grand hotel. The hotel accommodation is fine but i especially want to give credit to Ian and his staff for the excellent meal they provided to the 42 guests at the celebration dinner. Well done! Hotel has convenient underground parking which is appreciated given we had a very rainy weekend.

Room tip: rear facing rooms are quieter but have a limited view.
