Description: Bistro Hatzu is located in the West End, a vibrant neighbourhood in downtown Vancouver. At Hatzu, we provide Japanese-inspired cuisine covering a range of authentic to fusion dishes. In Japanese, the word hatsu means “first,” and we chose it for our name to symbolize the importance we place on first impressions. The moment you first walk into our friendly setting, your first sight of our beautifully crafted dishes, the first flavour to captivate your mouth; with all these firsts, we hope to create an inviting and memorable dining experience for you.

Came here for dinner with a friend while I was visiting in Vancouver. The sushi was really yummy and fresh. The tempura was great too. It was pretty busy but we hardly had to wait for our food. The staff was super friendly and the presentation was great

What a find! We had no difficulty getting a table at 6:00 but when we left at 8:00 there was a line-up...on a Wednesday night. So word is getting out, this is more than a sushi bar. Every dish we had was unique and super tasty. The Truffle Dancing Shrimps were light, with both pesto and balsamic sauces. The salmon carpaccio was a dream, also light with unusual sauces. Try the other sashimi towers too. This used to be Sushi Bella, and the Italian influence lingers, to the delight of these diners! Service was excellent, very friendly, and the wine was good. Everything priced appropriately to what is offered. We'll be going back soon.

Lovely restaurant conveniently located on Davie near Bute.
The atmosphere was pleasant, it's clean and most service staff are nice Korean people! However the food is really Japanese and we enjoyed delicious rolls, tempura and spicy tuna tataki. Nice selection of Sake, and overall a busy restaurant. Looking forward to the next time.

Don't ever get these guys delivered to you. They're so tight on soy sauce that your dinner is ruined. I was a long time customer here and spent over $60 on sushi every time I had it delivered, to have only been given 3 packets of soy sauce every time. What's sushi without soy sauce? That right ruined! It's disappointing because the food is great, just the new staff preparing the packs are so cheap on soy sauce it ruins the experience..
